Re: Weekend Football

LUX Agree West Ham are awful, but they are still in touch with Forest who are on a terrible run too.

And they play each other this week.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (h)

What would we do without Lewis Wing?
As posted under another topic it is so important to this team that we don't lose Wing or Pereira in this upcoming transfer window.

If you were in the position of say Oxford or Norwich you would take a chance on them wouldn't you?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (h)

Let's hope the club hasn't cut back on the undersoil heating-I see that Oxford and Swindon games are off.

Re: January shopping list

After much consideration (in reality thinking about it while walking for 20 minutes to and from the paper shop) I have reached the conclusion of "what is the point of signing anybody in the window?" I presume the plan for the rest of the season is to avoid relegation and therefore keeping ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Niclas Fullkrug had a good record in the Bundesliga and an excellent one for Germany. Useless and/or injured at West Ham, with just three goals in 29 appearances. He's joined Milan on loan, weirdly. West Ham have a recent history of not being able to get the best out of strikers who are clearly goo...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

You say that, and I guess over the last couple of seasons it has become more widely used. However, I started going to games in the late seventies and since that time had only heard it used a handful of times. Wondering if this an older term from local gentlemen who used to "Go rein dein tein&q...

Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

Our Academy and facilities would not look out of place at clubs like Brighton and Crystal Palace, and probably surpass some lower PL clubs like Bournemouth. The problem is they're massive white elephants for the club we are, and nobody has scaled them back to reflect a decade of stagnation. It was ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

LFC are really shit they are just lucky that everyone below them is somehow worse "Shit" is a word that I never use as it is a pointless and meaningless word used in far too many contexts but as far as the Mighty Reds are concerned they are going through a mediocre season of readjustment ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (h)

A comfortable win in the end, especially after their shot hit the woodwork. When I saw their line-up with supposedly 11 players unavailable and our ex-midfielder George Evans playing out of position at centre-back I , for once, was optimistic (never usually am about Reading's chances and usually pes...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

Man Utd 1-1 Wolves Too many players missing. No creativity in the team with Mainoo, Mount, Mbeumo, Bruno, and Amad all out. Adding Maguire and De Ligt means we're giving debuts to teenagers. The manager is going to get stick, but what can he do? It's the players that are shit. GNev is unlistenable ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (a)

Corrected for you. You're correction is incorrect, I'm neither on Twitter or a kid, but I am moaning about the performance! Just think we have a dreadful squad and a manager who plays dreadful football. You don't become a good side overnight. It seems like too many have forgotten how much change th...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (a)

Royals and Racers Both Williams out- Burns and Camara play
Ritchie back on bench.

Only good news if Danny K and Camara play as wingers.
For different reasons both the Williams lads will be missed and I'm not optimistic about the outcome tonight and would be happy to take a draw..

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

Until you live down this way nobody realises how intense (and daft) the rivalry and animosity is between Saints and Pompey which was originally based on the competition for business between the two docks. Similarly there is still some between Southampton and Liverpool for the same reason and it mus...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Just a couple of more days before it all happens again. Semenyo is obviously going from Bournemouth (Senesi might as well) but with Doak out with a long term injury the rumour is that Arsenal's young winger Nwaneri will go there on loan for the rest of the season. Liverpool may take Memphis Depay fo...

Tha Geordie Nation will divent be having it like!! Loosely related - i know a mackem who is Sunderland fan and we chat football sometimes. He seems to really hate Geordies and his go-to insults for them always involve them having gravy down their tops, which makes me chuckle. I have asked why this ...

Re: The Non - League thread

Some incredible crowds in the National League yesterday with York having over 7000 which is way more than they were getting as a league club. There really wasn't a lot of difference between that league and DIv 2 so will the eagerly awaited and hoped for revised relegation and promotion extensions me...

Re: The Non - League thread

A couple of proper local derbies in the south with teams only a few miles apart and some tense local rivalry:- Wimborne v Poole Dorchester v Weymouth Guaranteed four figure crowds at both and probably a few red cards. Was at the Dorchester game. Game delayed owing to crowd congestion Weymouth won 2...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

My thoughts from yesterday, a quick rewatch of the game (at 2x speed; skipping through breaks in play; etc.): ⋅ There was quite a scrappy start, but we grew into the game well. Really from the Doyle run and shot in the box, which won us the corner for the penalty, until the third goal we ...
