Re: Bolton fall out

The Chronicle has reported Leam as slamming the challenge on O’Connor on Tuesday as disgusting https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/sport/25865699.reading-fc-boss-slams-disgusting-bolton-wanderers-tackle/ Personally, in the split second it happened, I think it was a completely accidental and zero int...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (h)

Good to see a speedy winger taking players on-the pity is that it was a Bolton player. I do hope that Young gets game time as nobody else playing out wide for us is a natural winger with pace. Williams and Kyerewaa fill that No. Williams is not that quick and Danny K can do the first bit but hasn't...

Re: Play-off/relegation watch.

We may have to accept an upper mid table finish this term, not really good enough to push for a play-off spot, the work starts in the summer to build a squad to push on from a promising season even if the performances don`t add up. Why would we have to accept upper midtable? We're 2pts off the play...

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Vauxhall Conference League 25/26

Bloke from my local shop is an avid Galatasaray fan and was smiling from ear to ear (as they say) this morning. It may well have been Juventus' biggest loss in European competitions. Next up for them if they get through will probably be Spurs or Liverpool. Although they have already beaten Liverpool...

Re: Bolton fall out

For anyone clamouring for Pereira to be run out of town who would you have liked in goal for that one on one in the 2nd minute? Chances are we wouldn't have been hanging on to a one goal lead in the 95th without him Well said. An ever changing back 4 doesn't help and if we hadn't had Pereira at one...

Re: Bolton fall out

Over the years I calculated just now that I have watched around 1400 Reading home games. Today I feel that I have never watched such an unimaginative and and crude half of football as last night's second half. I count among those games the 6-0 thrashing by Bristol Rovers and the 7-0 loss to Man City...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h)

In my case it’s not ‘how are winning’ more it’s not a sustainable way to keep winning and I don’t think we’ll continue to win so many points unless performances improve (which they might) Marriotts always scored goals but not like this. He’s massively outperforming his career stats. Can it continue...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h)

Migraine night last night and this morning have stopped me going unfortunately.
I have no stats to back me up but I feel that we tend to do better than average on sunny days.

Maybe Paddy Lane, being used to the balmy weather of Portsmouth, will come good at last in the sunshine.

Watched some of the West Ham v Man Utd game last night at half-time and after Reading's game finished. Having listened to a reasonably well informed guy doing our game on his own and not over-talking, the comparison with the non -stop chatter of Fletcher and McCoist was noticeable. They just go on ...

3 shots on target, one in the 96th minute, by Man Utd away at lowly West Ham.
Back to normal then?

Ward looks the business Yes, couple of times he actually managed to cover by being able to run :o A few more games and he should become fairly key to the set up. I think we all need to cool our beans. We keep proclaiming players to be the messiah based on one performance and then half a dozen games...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Happy to see the chewing gum kid shown the door. Why? Hasn't he had to put up with a horrendous injury list and a captain that doesn't act like a captain? It probably is a case of wrong man for this club but there is something badly wrong there when managers successful elsewhere (especially Conte) ...

She was on talksport yesterday discussing the points she raised. I felt awkward just listening to it. it really just felt like she is upset at no longer being given the opportunities that she wants as a pundit, of which there are only a small handful in the whole country, and she has taken it very ...

Re: On this day

Obviously I had to look up the results to get the exact stats but but I just remember it being a slow, laborious death of toothless attacking and porous defending. The team really reflected the absolutely shit state the club was in. The saving grace was that Madejski bought us in the April, saving ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Liverpool were leading 1-0 when Slot brough Curtis Jones on. This season they have been subject to what they have previously done themselves to others -goals in added time or late on in games. It must be a case of concentration. BTW quite an entertaining game, City more threatening in the first and ...

Apparently. and according to Richardson, four full days since he was signed were not enough to impart him with all the information he requires to play in the team!  Must be an incredibly slow learner and/or we must be using an incredibly complicated system of play! Wow!! No disrespect,...

Absolute disgrace. Lost again against another cr@p team with a diabolically awful home record. All praise AFC Charity, nice to know you’re alive and well. Now just **** off. Only positive I can find is that Wimbledon are now Reading’s bogey team. 6 league games and a whopping 3 points from the soli...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Leicester deducted six points for PSR breaches: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c5y31xk1zx0o Leaves them above the relegation zone on goal difference. They should be strong enough to stay up, but certainly keeps/puts them in the relegation picture. They appear to have turned into a co...
