Re: BFTG Hull.

There are not enough flat mouthed emogies on the Internet to express the meh-ness of yesterday's match. Two poor teams playing out a poor game in a half empty stadium in February. Has to be the most uninspiring match day experience ever. We have become less than the sum of our parts and Bowen is goi...

Bristol Paul Thought his finishing looked quite good here

Observations :

The pitches in China look shit so he should be able to play on ours.
Don't they use the offside rule in China?

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Yes, felt like a defeat, but would have taken that result at 3pm. But really, even though our record there isn't good, I consider Reading a third division club playing above their natural level and expect a win every time we go there. Just me I suppose. Not a bad day out though. This suits us...

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

I'm strangely ambivalent about the whole thing. With Stam, Brian and Atkins I had strong opinions but with Jose I just think it was a bizarre appointment in the first place and so never really bought into it. Lovely guy, not his fault he was approached by Reading and appointed to a job where he almo...

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

I'm absolutely certain Gomes will be a good manager, but he needs to accept that the 3 men at at the back are making one big error per match too many. I was Rodgers in, Adkins in, Stam in and I'm Gomes in. FTR, I was McDermot out, Clarke out, and Clement out. Hmm. IMHO Rodgers was totally out of hi...

Ascotexgunner Wonder if he has the balls to swallow his pride and play Baldock up front or put him on the bench. He can't do much worse and would have quite a point to prove.

Also file under Gunter and McCleary :|

Re: BFTG - Charlton

I remember Charlton being top of premier league at the end of August one year, think it was their first season up there. They ended up being relegated in May. Can't see that happening this season but cant see them finishing in the top half either. Agree. Charlton are nothing more than bang average....

Re: BFTG - Charlton

First half very niggly game, no momentum from either side, just kept giving the ball away to each other. Not an enjoyable watch by any means but we should have gone in 1-0 up if it wasn't for Puscas' miss. Second half, don't even get me started. Total capitulation from the first whistle. I'm actuall...

Platypuss Adkins was at St Mary's on Saturday. He just likes watching football.

Maybe he wants to learn how to become a football manager... :|

Re: BFTG - Sheffield

It really is something for a team without a manager to totally destroy Gomes tactically. Is it? Really? I'm not going to use the old cliché about Gomes being tactically naive because I don't believe that to be true. It's far worse than that, he's tactically unaware. Seems like a really nice fella b...

Terrible decision. Immense talent, just needed the right nurturing and a positive role in the team. I worry about our future as a club when things like this happen.

That offside decision for their goal was harsh though. Back end of a heel when moving away from goal. Hmm :|

Re: The womens world cup

Oh Scotland. Letting in 3 goals in the last 20 minutes? WTAF!? That is the worst bottle job since the US men needing just a draw to qualify for the 2018 WC lost to Trinidad & Tobago. **shakes head** True that they totally shat their knickers but from a purely chauvinistic English point of view,...

AthleticoSpizz Anybody else from here, there for Freds testimonial at EP?

Yeah I was there. Seem to remember there were temporary goalposts after eejits tore down the old ones after the last ever EP game or something. Johnny Brooks making an appearance on the wing?

Muskrat I presented Billy Whitehurst with the MOTM award away at Huddersfield in 1988 when we won 2-0 and he scored both goals. CSB eh?

Zip I was also surprised how long Pearson stayed on the pitch for them. He was hobbling for a long time before he eventually went off.

They had no more subs left, having already subbed one of their subs, which is why they finished with ten men (during which time they scored :| )
