Re: Rumour - Ronan Curtis

2 world wars, 1 world cup I've not come across many people called Ronan before.

For that reason I'm out.

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

Think we need to sign a CB regardless, but get Moore off the books and a decent fee for him £3m+ and that would probably fund two in fee and wages. Seems reasonable. I don't know why but CB seems to me the one position that while you can have super players like Sonko, the threshold seems a lot lowe...

Re: Speculation: Lewis Baker

Can't imagine Adam's wages are that high considering the other team in for him were Blackpool. I wouldn't mind Adam staying principally as a coach, he seems to be intelligent, well respected and a good role model. Not sure that’s a widely held view.... Surely we would have to know what Charlie Adam...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

The bowler is too close to the umpire. Out of interest how much of a cricket season will there be? They usually would have been playing a couple of months by now so while I could see the 20/20 and one day competitions still being played I’m not so sure about the 5 day competition as I doubt they’d ...

Re: Finance

Have read quite a lot of stuff about football having to recalibrate its finances, wage ceilings, etc etc. It's nonsense really. There may be a short term shock for some clubs but when football restarts proper the same economics will be in play as ever. That being that the clubs with the most money w...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

I've started videoing from my isolation-flat. Thatcham is (so far) more or less as busy. Free Car Park in Thatcham Broadway full. At 10 AM on a Sunday it's empty Doesn't look like people are taking this seriously (yet) I beg to differ I think a lot of people are shitting themselves now. It’s stupid...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Seriously, the EFL and the PL are useless.....They have had ages to call these matches off or make a decision. So what do they do? They decide one day before a full fixture weekend where fans/clubs etc are planning for tomorrow and now wil most likely frantically have to run around cancelling tomor...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

i think the logical thing to do would be postpone the leagues, then play the remaining games late May and June because I think Euro 2020 will be put off till next year. Start next season in September and cancel the cup comps. Play the remaining games when the virus is expected to be at its peak. Go...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Peak is forecast to be in 3-9 weeks time in the UK. While it might be amusing to travel around and care very little. If you've an older/elderly relative. Give a thought to the fact that there's insufficent capacity in ICU to cope with a major epidemic. People will either recovery from the virus nat...

Norfolk Royal Can’t find the game by following the links to it. The FA fb page doesn’t have a link to it and the link on here doesn’t find it either. Anyone know where it is. Only have iPhone on me.

Re: BFTG Sheff U FB

The comment about the modern player not being two footed is very true. When I first started watching football, all the top footballers use to comment about working on their weaker foot.I seem to recall that our 2005 side only had one player who was genuinely two footed, and that was Doyle.Even at the ...

Re: BFT well I don’t know what to call it without resorting to a lot of naughty words

By mid-morning of the day after nearly everything has been said. Two very simple things picked up by Sandy and Roller: Throw-ins-for so many years now we just throw the ball away We don't need all our players back for corners-not only do they get in each others' way but the ball is cleared to nobod...

Re: BFT well I don’t know what to call it without resorting to a lot of naughty words

Re the criticism of our players for the third goal. Wasn’t it clear that the reason they were jogging back rather than sprinting that they were tracking the possibility of runners coming in behind them to receive a ball cut back from the touchline. It was a percentage decision taken on the premise ...

Re: Elm Park Years

Can't believe nobody has mentioned the artificial leg incident at the Saints home game. Pics in the EvPo and everything. There was more trouble at he Wolves game before that as I recall with a mob of Reading/Chelsea zooming across the Town End to attack the Wolves fans up in the corner. Don't condon...

Re: Elm Park Years

Great memories I must say. Remember all those games from that era although think I wasn't living in Reading at the time of the Bristol City game so missed that one. Being beaten up or at least being in fear of extreme violence while attending a football match as a teenager at that time was very much...

Re: BFTG - Baggies

Frustrating game to watch. We've got players with a lot of talent but there are several missing links holding us back. The Joao injury is the obvious as he was holding the ball up and bringing others into the game and on good form when he got injured. Meite is not that sort of player and is most eff...
