Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Given Stella has ignored my question about where they were sat, I’ll give my thoughts. I did one game in the early part of last season, it was an awful 1-0 loss, the numbers were low and the whole experience was very drab. Having seen how well everyone did towards the end of last year, I moved my s...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

I'm sorry, and I appreciate what club1871 is doing and it really is needed, but today it was embarrassing. Fully if happy clapping and it only took Wednesday once to really pipe up and they sounded like a proper mob. Full of lads having it and ours looked like a bunch of lite boys on a happy day ou...

Re: BFTG - Sheffield

As a match it was quite even, although it’s fair to say Wednesday had a bit more bite in midfield. Chances wise there was nothing in it, but they just took theirs unfortunately. Worrying performance from the keeper, the second in particular went straight through him. Yakou won everything in the air,...

Re: CONFIMRED - Charlie Adam

I will give any new signing a chance, it's the right thing to do but I have so much pessimism towards this one. Seems like the signing of a club desperate for bodies who know a relegation scrap is ahead of them. David Meyler, Stephen Quinn, Dave Edwards and now Charlie Adam. Not a single 30+ year o...

Jason Roberts was 34 when he signed for us and that didn’t turn out badly. Happy to see how this goes.

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

That’s to come.... But I do know the truth about how the comic relief shirts come about but not sure if that’s already been spoken about. Was it a potential away kit scraped at the last minute after 5000 produced? No - opposite, home kit!! Owners didn’t appreciate what the backlash would of been. W...

Re: On this day

Despite achieving so much in the last 15 years or so, I am so embittered every year when the playoffs come round and three teams get to enjoy the thrill of winning them. From a football point of view, this is the most heartbreaking time of year for me, and that will never go until we actually win on...

Re: Rival Watch

I like Sheffield United as a club, but Wilder behaved appalling when we played them at home a couple of years back - it all revolved around that goal they scored when in reality they should have given us the ball back. That goal was last season on the coldest night I have ever watched a game. The g...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

The Dolan Stand on Twitter has made a very good point to supporters wanting a season ticket in the South Stand next season. If you already have a season ticket elsewhere in the stadium, you can move it permanently for the Birmingham game, thus giving you first refusal on renewing it before season t...

Yep, smashed it again today.

How many times have we genuinely outsung West Brom in the past? We’ve certainly never done it at Madejski Stadium.

We had an absolutely shocker of a minute today whereby Barrow missed a one on one, Hull took the lead shortly after, AND Rotherham took the lead in their match.

Re: Financial Fair Play

Quite a bit of character assassination of Stam from trawling trough the thread, which goes against what I’ve heard from some of the people I know at the club. I appreciate it’s easy to tar Stam with the same brush as Gourlay, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. A lot of the signings in summ...

Re: Bftg- Wigan (h)

The ref was negligibly bad today, to the point where his actions (or lack of) at times could be directly attributed to injuries.

Wigan shot themselves in the foot, as if they’d bothered trying to play football they’d have probably come away with the win.

A very sweet win
