Re: Stams philosophy

Everyone knows that Gunter is the best right back in the Championship. It's not disputed. Excuse me ? .....Bruno Salter at Brighton for a starter You're having a laugh. that defending for the 2nd Newcastle goal was Gunter-at-Ipswich-esque. Basically showed him into the box, and gave the winger all ...

Re: Rival Watch

I'm not sure - it might, but then they have a fairly comfortable run in - esp the home games. I'd be surprised if it isn't Brighton and Newcastle in the top 2 to be honest - esp if Newcastle come away from Huddersfield with at least a point. Massive game now that one - would hope the effort of playi...

Re: Preston (A)

IN. Hopefully it will be as cold, wet and miserable as last year. Of course it will, it's in Preston. Been there a number of times, never seen a positive result. And always been freeezing Are you going to this one? :? Not this year. Much as I'd like to be surrounded by a bunch of miserable dour nor...

Re: Do we reckon the players read this board?

I'm sure some do on occasions. Probably more likely after they win than lose though. Hopefully none read the collective toys out of pram of the Brighton away threads

Re: Stams philosophy

A good RWB, an average RB in my opinion.

Think he is in poor form at the moment though, was rubbish against both Brentford and Brighton, and actually started to make me wonder about Watson coming in. Hopefully he can improve for the weekend

Re: Stams philosophy

Agree with pretty much everything in that post. Would consider Grabban for Yann though

Joey did an excellent job for us in midfield earlier in the season. I'd certainly not be unhappy to see him back in that Dm role (just not CB ever again)

Re: Stams philosophy

To be honest the bookies have barely backed us all season - wouldn't take huge notice of that I certainly don't think we are far away from being a fairly formidable squad. Certainly wouldn't want major surgery in the summer. Is say the majority of the squad can play the football Jaap wants, it's a c...

Re: Where I think we stand.

I'd be confident of a good year next year if we don't go up this year. A good solid seasons experience behind Swift, Kelly, Evans and Blackett (who personally I rate) will only improve them. Moore and Beerens barely played for 2 years before this season and hopefully Ilori will get fit and involved ...

Well yeah would rather see Brighton not go up as well. But on balance think Newcastle screwing it up may be marginally more funny

Re: BFTS - Brighton (A)

I actually thought Williams was pretty good. Barely wasted a pass, a few good tackles and probably our likeliest scorer. His shooting was pretty poor though

In truth he has been our best midfielder by a distance this last month

Re: MATCHWATCH : Brighton & Hove Albion (a) sponsored by Tinsmiths everywhere

Regards the signings, we hav only really seen Mutch and Grabban

I thought Grabban looked pretty good to be honest tonight. Mutch have serious doubts about, partly going on what Palace fans thought of him

Re: BFTS - Brighton (A)

Even if that was all he did he has won us 5 Pts in the last month or so then

Was no lack of effort - just didn't get much of the ball. Was our best player vs Brentford only 2 games ago, and prob our most dangerous against Cardiff

Re: MATCHWATCH : Brighton & Hove Albion (a) sponsored by Tinsmiths everywhere

Part of our inability to impose ourselves was down to the fact they are a good experienced side though - clearly not through lack of effort or heart We all know we aren't the finished article - it's up to the likes of Swift, Kelly, Evans and Blackett - all likely key but inexperienced players - to l...

Re: BFTS - Brighton (A)

Don't agree with a lot of that to be honest Sure it's very frustrating losing to Brighton but they are a good side. We handled them ok for the majority but obviously defended very poorly when they broke ( though they did that well tbf) Obviously the bug turning point was the clearance of the line fo...
