Re: Next Manager

Just a thought....
Wasn't Bowen being hailed last season in the last few games with advising Gomes on tactical advice on opposition players?
Maybe in his role he couldn't influence Gomes on how teams would set up against his teams this season- really exposing Gomes' downfall.....

Re: MATCHWATCH : Fulham (h) sponsored by a Yann Kermorgant penalty

Of course Fulham will look at Swift and try and nullify his influence on the game. I would think every manager in the league will see that as prioty number 1 when facing Reading atm. Dare i say it, the way Mitrovic plays suits Moores defensive style. Think he would relish the physical side to his ga...

Re: CONFIRMED - Yakou Meite

Meite was very good at the back end of last season and literally won us games on his own so he has a lot of credit in the bank with me. Yep this. Very much took games by the scruff of the neck and dragged the team with him at times. Meite offers us something a bit different. On goal kicks, if we st...

Re: Puscas speculation.

Puscas will be absolutely fine once we start playing to his strengths. He should be 1st name on the teamsheet and given the service he needs in order to score goals. some consistency of selection and set up might help tbh Yep a settled team will 100% help. Also a few players need to release the bal...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (h) sponsored by a point off Europe

Puscas does need a run in the team, key for this season would be getting Swift and Puscas to form some understanding on the pitch.
Meite, I feel has faith in the bank from last season to edge it over Joao atm.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cardiff City (h) sponsored by Adam Federici

A new formation? makes sense that we played it at Wycombe then. Hopefully it wont be too disruptive to the work that had been done pre season etc.
Disciple and concentration must be at full come saturday then as we know a Warnock side will be extremely well drilled in there patterns of play.

Re: BFTG - Wycombe Away

In a word - Disjointed. But kind of understandably so.... There is some quality raw material to work with. Jose just needs to settle on his way of playing and let the players bed in. Massive difference to where we were a year ago. Starting formation didn't help tbh. Felt it strange to be going with...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader to Wolves

Could Barrows fee and his wages off our books be worth more in a year than the initial payment we would have gotten for Loader?

Re: Rival Watch

Parachute payments should only be used on wages, not transfer fees.
Its like relegated teams have a extra cash injection on top of the PL money to have a head start on the rest of the league. Just doesn't sit well with me.
Plus its Fulham, worst fans and they have a neutral stand....

Re: Formation for the season ahead

I'm not getting the Richards Loving here. His best game was his full debut. After that he looked out of his depth, was clearly targeted when he was starting. He filled a gap when needed, he stepped up. He is a very useful back up and bench player. Not a starter. Again with all our players, I am happ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Matt Miazga

Clean sheets guarantees points. There is no point being able to score 2-3 goals a game but concede just as many. At the moment, scoring 1 a game looks like it may be challenging so clean sheets are going to be vital. At least it keeps us in the game. There was long stretches last season where we di...

Re: Are we screwed?

If he is off the books then great but if not only back up is also great - but an expensive back up. I would say McCleary knows that as a club we need him off the books and probably understands his and Readings financial position. He is a model pro, would not sulk or be disruptive regardless of his p...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I've mentioned in another thread, the competition of CB places will only make us better. This is not a dilemma for the fans to worry about more rejoice in it. Thats if Miazga does comes in. For the past 2 years, most selection dilemmas have been "who the oxf*rd could possibly play there? Every...

don't get it having signed Morrison. Can't believe any of Moore, Morrison or Miazga will be happy being 3rd choice Choice!! What a awful situation to be in. Competition for places will make everyone better Gomes cannot rely on people staying fit all season. All it means is an academy lad would be l...

Re: CONFIMRED - Charlie Adam

Very meh over this signing. . Could be shrewd addition to the squad....??? But it has a very O'Shea feeling to this but think Adam has a few years left in him. We needed options in CM and we got a older has been. Focusing in on the positives though; He has a decent dead ball on him, happy to put the...

All 3 are gifted players, the balance is just not right. Unless we play 3 CBs I cant see those 3 in the middle working.

Re: Next Season's Squad.

We'll almost certainly get some players in this summer. I wouldn't pick a team and put Olise in a defensive CM midfield position, because I don't think it will ever get as far as needing to do that I'd like to see Richards get some game time as a left mid/winger. I think he could do a better job th...
