Re: Fan for AD Sports feature

Ultimate pro, of course. It's a shame none of you guys can see Premier League World today on AD Sports. Steve Coppell is the guest and he is talking so openly about our second season in the top flight. Some information that we could speculate on, but hearing it first hand now is fascinating. Plenty ...

Re: Fan for AD Sports feature

Haha, I saw that feature on AD Sports a month or two back.

AD Sports is great - every Premier League game live in HD, plus all the sideshow programmes that go with it.

Do they show Premier League TV in UK also now or is it just shown overseas?

Re: Dubai - Training

Great article posted up. I'm sure the pleasant climate over here in the Gulf was appreciated by the squad. Whether our goal of survival is achieved or not, this sounds like a good idea to me. FWIW, the lad mentioned in the article (Omar Abdulrahman) was a star performer as UAE won the recent Gulf Cu...

Re: Sad news

I've just seen this thread too and I am shocked and saddened to hear this news. Sybil was a charming, friendly, welcoming and energetic lady. Her passion and knowledge of RFC was immense. I will always remember seeing her down at Sonning Lane and, as others have said, at numerous away days. I don't ...

Re: RUMOUR - Macdonald Mariga

Always much hyped in East Africa but then most Africans talk plenty of nonsense, my wife included  He has been a bit unlucky that his progress has stalled, although not getting the City move wasn't a bad thing imo. If he can fulfil his potential he could be a very useful player for a club like ...

Re: Back from the Game/pub/computer: Newcastle

I'm fortunate enough to watch us in crystal clear HD every week and to be honest I don't care if it's scrappy, lucky or whatever. Great spirit these last two weeks, and whilst we do lack quality, we're keeping ourselves in with a chance of survival if we fight like this. This game was down to two fa...

Re: RUMOUR - Jermaine Defoe

Adebayor expected to sign for Spurs, will be interesting to see if that effects the Defoe situation or not.

As ambitious and unlikely as it is, a massive yes for me if we have any chance of doing this deal.

Re: SIGNED: Nicky Shorey

Welcome back Nicky and good luck for the season. Disappointing that so many people have small minds and store up so much hate, but I guess it's typical of football fans generally. Will it work out? Who knows, but he gets my support and best wishes and I'd prefer to judge the success or otherwise aft...

Re: Steve Kean - ex RFC player?

I remember him on the fringes of the reserves and also played against him and Brendan Rodgers in Sunday league football. Both played for Newbury on Saturday's and both for the same team in Whitchurch on Sunday's (can't remember if it was Abbey Whitchurch or something like that). Amazingly (as ours ...

Re: Reflections

Fantastic post, well written and including so many things that most of us wouldn't have a clue about.

I'd only attended one game in '76 before becoming a regular at the start of 78-79 (not a bad year to start my passion).

Thanks for sharing it and hoping you enjoy many more 'good seasons'.

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

This is a great thread for exiles with so many stream options. Unfortunately not one of them was useable in the 3rd world, whether by stream, TV or radio outlets  BBC channels are blocked as out of region, i-player (LKO) and even 5Live Extra for the same reasons. However, a move to a more tech...

Re: Kitson could come back again.

based on? He had no time for his team mates, he was always a bit of an outsider who didn't get on with the other players that closely. He was arrogant and outspoken. Whilst SHunt was an unspeakable arse, Kits shouldn't have taken the piss about Church starting ahead of him in the POs. And then ther...

Re: Graeme Murty to rejoin as a coach

In response to 'under the tin' that's an interesting idea but not one I would personally prefer. I guess it will depend on what Murts sees his future as: coaching, media or ambassadorial type role? Agree about Brynjar, would also be happy if we offer him a role on the coaching staff any time he want...

Re: Graeme Murty to rejoin as a coach

Sorry I really must stick up for Karen Murty here. From personal experiences back in the day, she is not an attention seeking WAG - far from it. She and other partners formed a charity to promote the whole 'community' feel of our club and did this to great effect. It was an extension of the same com...

Re: Transfer news...

I'm sure that people working at the club are capable of realising which areas of the team and squad need improving. If the right player is available we will make a move. Also feel the club may have made a smart move switching the City game to last Saturday as this must make it much easier for McDerm...
