Re: Fans Forum with Mark Bowen Oct 29

Seen a few pics and comments on social media saying how impressive Bowen was. These are the same people who were DISGUSTED at his appointment, moaned about how he SHAFTED Gomes and that they didn't want ANYTHING to do with the club from now on. I saw one particular selfie from someone who was very ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

If you've got a gripe with something the club are doing then I'm pretty sure the best place to direct that gripe is the club, not an internet mongboard. You never know, they may actually welcome constructive criticism.

Re: Weekend Football

By all means suggest he is lazy but suggest he's spent his whole career being carried by better players is utter nonsense.

Re: Weekend Football

Scoring a hat-trick seems to get way more praise and excitement than 1 more goal than scoring 2 goals. The hat-trick itself seems to be what's celebrated, instead, or maybe on top of, the actual 3 goals. It seems off. I hope I am making sense here. ummmmmm wtf? I feel like because it has a little n...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

It was probably the same social media mob who were apoplectic with rage last December when we signed an unknown Portuguese manager who'd achieved fcuk all in the game. I liked Gomes and will be forever grateful for the 6 months he spearheaded a seismic positive shift in the atmosphere at the club. B...

Excellent result to come from behind twice away to a team in decent form, A bit of fight and a bit of spirit. Good to see.

Not great - but better! A win, three points and a clean sheet - against a top six side. Had they beaten us and had West Brom drawn, they would be top of the league now. Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

No, but it would cement his reputation as a L1 manager who is successful on a budget but struggles with backing.

And you'd be surprised at how unrealistic Sunderland fans are.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

But, if you take into account the Secret Footballer theory, fail to get them up this season and he gets the sack with the addendum that "He couldn't even get Sunderland out of L1 with all their resources". But yeah, he gets a nice payoff because Sunderland pay over the odds because no-one ...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Was it the Secret Footballer who said that the only reason anyone ever signs for Sunderland is the money? Something about it being a footballing graveyard of unrealistic ambitions, impatient and obnoxious fan base and generally a miserable place to be.

Re: Ex Players

He was fantastic under McDermott.

McDermott's team was full of hard working, well organised, physically strong, intellegent players but Kebe was the one who got you on your feet every time he got the ball.

Re: Ex Players

Adkins claims he feigned injury to engineer a move to Palace, Kebe claims he had a hamstring tweak.. Considering he had spent the previous 6 months out injured, I would imagine the truth lies somewhere between the 2, and in all likelihood, Kebe didn't see the value in potentially aggrivating an inju...

Re: England - the future....

Head of the Bulgarian FA (that's, sadly, ex-Reading keeper Bobby Mihaylov) has been told that he should quit his post immediately by the Bulgarian PM, following his comments pre-match about the 'unjust branding' directed at Bulgarian football and for allowing it to 'connect' with racism. Mihaylov i...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

3rd poor appointment in a row. Its a lack of ambition yet again. When we hired Adkins he was generally a sought after man. I suspect the same with Steve Clarke, and to a lesser extent Stam. What has changed? Have we given up going for the best candidate? Yeah, because the man who took us to a playo...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

He went for the Wayne Hennessey defence. It's a breach of FA rules and, as Liverpool have stated, a breach of their code of conduct. It's not that big a punishment, he'll miss 1 game which in all likelihood he wouldn't have started anyway. To be fair, a 16 year old not understanding why that is off...
