Re: Back from the Everton (H) game

Federici 7- made several good saves, nothing amazing but if he had had a bad day then we'd have lost by a lot. Gunter 5- poor defensively. In his defence he was utterly exposed by McAnuff, but several of the errors were totally his fault, like dwelling on the ball. I think he should keep his place ...

Re: Jay Tabb

I think this is going a bit too far the other way. Tabb hasn't been an embarrassment for the last few matches, but he also hasn't been amazing. In the first half yesterday he was anonymous. In the second half he was better, particularly in the final third. He even managed to tackled Fellaini, wherea...

Re: Norwich fan in peace

Now I want to talk about Reading. I've seen a lot of criticism of McDermott, but blimey, isn't he doing the best that he could be expected to do considering the fact that he was given nothing to spend? Reading have spent nothing, nada, zilch. You are now playing in the best league in the world, I b...

Re: Norwich - back from the game

And the substitutions? Yeh, brilliant, take off Hunt - the only striker capable of jumping and winning a header - and then proceed to revert to our much favoured hoofball! Pog won several headers. According to Reading FC on Twitter, Brian said "The players are disappointed because they want to...

No, you've got to come to expect it from him after a while.

Re: Charlie Austin

Lionel Messi (who, by the way, had been labeled a waste of time until Barcelona's backroom staff thought he had potential). He signed for his local team, Newell's Old Boys, aged 8. They are one of the biggest clubs in Argentina. River Plate, one of the two big clubs in Argentina, were going to sign...

Re: Team for Norwich (H)

yesterdays fans > todays fans And those of us that have been supporting the club for 30 years? An opinion that differs from your own doesn't make anyone a better or lesser fan. Feds was superb last year, it looks like a one off mind, as previous to that he always looked likely to make a mistake, an...

Re: QPR: Back from the Match / Pub / TV

We aren't a team of average Championship players. After McDermott took over, we were the second best team in the league for about 3 months, then we got in the playoff final, then we got promoted. Average players don't have that level of improvement. Most of our players are top-end Championship playe...

John Madejski's Wallet [
But iirc Pearce has been utter gash whenever he's played on the left side of CB,

You don't remember correctly, he played well to the left of Mills when Zurab was injured, and he was playing better than HNA gave him credit for before that too.

Re: Alex Pearce

Do not understand why our biggest aerial threat (Pearce) has been suddenly dropped. Gorkks is good for all his experience but will not develop any further as a player. Pearce on the other hand I'm pretty sure was once being compared to the young John Terry of ten years ago. Its obvious to everyone ...

Re: Rivalry

I don't think this is worth getting worked up over. It's a tiny sample size, 12 or 13 fans per club, which will never be representative of the country as a whole. I bet we could find 12 Reading fans who think Dominic Samuel should be playing ahead of Jason Roberts.

Re: Proud to be a Reading fan tonight

I think you're being harsh on many of the Arsenal players there, Hoop. Koscielny played 43 matches last season and has already played 7 this season. Djourou played 29 last season. Giroud is a very good striker and was involved heavily in the comeback. Arshavin has been disappointing for Arsenal rece...

Re: Back from the game/the PC - Fulham (H)

McCarthy 6- couldn't be faulted for any of the goals, but otherwise only had simple saves to make. Good distribution choices, particularly as he can't kick. Cummings 5- good going forward, but deary me, his marking seems to cost us every week. Bring Gunter back in. Mariappa 7- our best defender Gork...

Re: RUMOUR - Bertrand, Clyne and Zaha

marcusopp Our wide options are very good. Not many clubs outside the top 4 have a player of McCleary's quality on the bench.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, West Brom, QPR, Norwich, Swansea, Southampton, West Ham?

(That's over half the clubs who weren't in last season's top four and aren't Reading)

Re: Jason Roberts...Do you sometimes find him annoying?!

If the footballing world is institutionally racist against black managers, then I don't think having to interview them will make a jolt of difference. If boards don't want to hire black people, they won't hire them. What are the current stats for black managers? 6 out of 97 (given Barnet have two ma...
