Song

by royal jonesy91 » 03 May 2011 14:12

I know this is a topic which always comes up, but always ends up going no where, but after Coventry away on Saturday I'm thinking we need our 'own' song .... Eg marching on together which a couple of clubs sing, or deliah (Stoke fans) ... Thoughts..

I saw one on the facebook page of maybe starting the Celtic song 'just can't enough' which would be good but need thoughts...

To the tune of ‘She'll be Coming Round the Mountain’:

'We'll be cheering on the Reading with our replica kits *clap clap*
With Doobs, and Murts and Ingi we can't fail *clap clap*
We'll be waving our rumblestiiiix, and beating our great big drum, *clap clap*
we'll be supporting the Reading with our painted faces *clap clap*

Obviously we’ll have to update some of the players names, but I’ll need some help with that as I haven’t seen us play since were relegated from the prem.

Sorry Royal Jonesy this won't happen if talked about on the web!

Delilah was started by some Stoke lads who stuck it on a pub jukebox for a laugh many years ago! *

A lot of other club songs have been around years started on the terraces largely based on factory or local songs.

If some local historian can locate songs about beers, bulbs or biscuits** then be my guest!

*the jukebox was probably smashed up as the lads left the pub

** no not the club advert... if you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our club..

Liverpool sing this for Maxi Rodriguez now, guessing we stole it from them.

m10, you clearly are thinking of Delia(h) Smith at Norwich

Now if you were on about Delilah by Tom Jones.. That's something completely different

You also missed out the 't' in just.

Also. I believe it is:

guess not 'guest'
you not 'u'
And finally - 'Nothing to DO with Delia Smith'

I'm presuming the 91 at the end of your username means born in 91..? It's safe to say you did not go to university, complete a college course or even finish school?
