Hardly a game to get the pulse racing!

After 52 minutes I commented that we'd had 2 shots so on that basis we should have another before the 90 minutes was up.
The first half would have been up there with the most unenjoyable first halves ever, in saying that we probably executed a game plan very well. Every player was closing down very quickly often giving free kicks away, although rarely in a dangerous position.

It reminded me so much of Watford Away, we were the better of the two sides but the opposition was awful. All that seemed needed was to go up a gear to earn a valuable three points.

Thankfully in the second half we did find that extra gear, just the one, but that was all that was needed against a Derby side with no idea how to break us down.

Before the game I would have settled for a point at Derby but after seeing how poor Derby were the three points were definitely there for the taking. Not the sort of stuff to get the crowds flooding back to football but McD had a game plan and an effective one at that.

MOM for me was Hunt. Tireless all night, won plenty of headers including the all important one and linked well with Roberts.
First time I have seen Roberts and was impressed with how he held the ball up, bringing others into the game. Good signing and gives us a different dimension up front.

3 points to warm the away fans on the way home. Nothing for the home fans who didn't seem to care less all night long.

The funniest moment of the evening for me was when the guy in the Ticket Office had to use a calculator to add up two tickets at £28 each.

He wasn't the brightest.

I gave him a tenner, three fivers and three pound coins and it must have taken him over 2 minutes to work out if it was right.

Couldn't be at the game or even listen to the game last night, so if anybody fancies writing a match report for The Tilehurst End, we'd be very grateful, either PM me here or email thetilehurstend@gmail.com ta

Surprised to see HRK get the lowest mark. Gooding was raving about his contribution and quality at times.

As was the away end- got a big chant when he went off and he acknowledged it with applause, good to see.

Saw the goal on SSN last night. Hunt had to celebrate in front of an empty away end.

The two Sky reporters for our game and the other non-goal fest at Birmingham were bored out of their skulls by these two games.
From the reports on here seen just through RFC eyes it shows yet again that we fans see almost everything through RTGs.
A good result though in a season when the least bad will get promoted.

Just reading the sports pages of the Daily Mail today. Was going to read the report on the Reading game, but there doesn't seem to be one. Quite a few reports from the other Championship games though.

happens alot in the mail, and many other papers
often theyll just put the saints and west ham results.
such are the pitfalls of supporting a small local club over some corporate giant.
its very hurtful

Indeed, I thought he was rather good. On another day he could have had a couple of assists, wasn't his fault. He's coming along nicely I would say.

521 fans travelling to Derby on a tuesday night which also happens to be valentines day...

Pretty decent turnout I thought.
