So all I can derive from this is

If it's Gylfi, or a similarly epic signing, if it's a shit, uninspiring signing, or if nothing happens at all...

Bigmike has played an absolute blinder here

Going back to the takeover process, is anyone concerned that Anton appears to look like a spacker when he celebrates?

More practice before next year please, big man.

Presume Mariappa is the "board meltdown" signing then. I'm gutted. I really am. No offence to Mariappa and all that, but he's no Gylfi.

Anyway, it's been fun - had to do a bit of work for a while there - but glad nothing happened in my absence.

Mariappa would be a strong signing but agree, he's hardly meltdown material for this place. Personally I can't see Gylfi returning and wouldn't be surprised if he was Brendan's first signing at Liverpool. The only other player to cause a meltdown would possibly be Long and this to me seems more realistic based on his bond with the club and Brian. I'm ready to be happily surprised though. Bertrand I honestly cannot see happening seeing as Chelsea are going to offer him a new contract.

But who knows? Only a few on here I would imagine.

Mariappa would be great, I remember Newcastle having a series of bids rejected in January.

The same Newcastle whose big summer signing has been someone whose name isn't worth remembering on a free from a French second tier team. Yeh, 'great'...

They've generally done a pretty good job in the transfer market, including in and around the time when they were interested in Mariappa.

You're seriously criticising Newcastle's recent transfer policy?

oxf*rd this sh/t. We sign a player who isn't even going to get into the first team.

How is that 'meltdown' news?

So, a free transfer back-up winger and some tit from Watford. It's fun being a rich club.
