Wishing you a long & prosperous career here.

There was one point in the second half - just before the third, I think - where you could see him touching the tips of his fingers together, the camera panned close on this pouty lips and you could read his mind: "Holy mother of oxf*rd, what have I done? That big Russian is no Ricky. My captain is no Lallana. We don't move. We don't pass. And our first touch is Sunday league. Jeez, I wish I was in Winchester."

Still. We move on.

I have just watched his pre match interview on reading player. He is clearly still devastated not to be with Southampton, for all his talk of ' we move on' and 'I'm delighted to be at Reading football club now.' When he talked of them he still said ''we.'' He talks of the quality of the players there and the fact that he thinks they will finish in the top ten (cue awkward silence) I desperately hope, for his sake and for our players, that we can win this game on Saturday; otherwise I fear morale will be on the floor for both him and the players. I cannot see that we have a cat in hell's chance of survival this year, but would hope we go down with a little dignity.
GOOD LUCK NIGEL and I think most fans are realistic and patient enough to be looking to next season now rather than this. A miracle would be fantastic of course, but is unlikely and I hope he will not feel under too much scrutiny if and when it doesn't happen.

Sorry to say and I might be completely wrong and I hope I am but I have a funny feeling about this appointment.

I reckon that NA might still be not convinced that RFC is where he should be. It would not surprise me at all to this end up in a Brendon situation and Dolan to end up being our manager at the start of next season.

I'm in the BM camp and didn't want him fired, but NA is the manager and as such I want him to succeed, however I also feel as if NA is with us on sufferance rather than genuine desire.

Soton treated him shabby IMHO and he appears to be in wistful mood whenever he is asked about Soton. I don't doubt his sincerity, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ultimately proves not to be our next long term appointment.

Would also be the first to hope I'm wrong and that he turns out to be the most successful Reading manager ever!

Tbh, what did you guys expect? He was treated a million times worse by Saints than BM was by Reading and his heart is still clearly there. It will take him a while, but he'll come to feel the same about us in time. I guess it's like your first love - you never forget how you felt but you get on with life and learn to deal with it.

I wake up every morning expecting him to have done a Coppell and quit. Wouldn't blame him tbh. In that video on RFC Player it seems he is literally teaching professional footballers how to pass to each other

He took Southampton from League One to the PL for fukks sake of course he would rather be there than here! Just like McDermott will rather still be managing us than Leeds.

Am I alone in Googling Brian every day to find out where he might end up? Yes, good luck Nigel. You are a top bloke and we may well grow to love you.

When a manager whose very DNA being woven into the fabric of a club leaves you utterly bereft in his absence; his departure reducing you into gentle indifference as to its immediate future; then you too will know true and enduring affection...

Bet he didn't sleep a wink last night! I am feeling too nervous to enjoy this one, so can't imagine how he is feeling. Really hoping the players turn up for him today and we get a bit of luck too. Hope the Saints fans clapping him at the start doesn't unsettle him too much.
