Same side as Saturday except Obita in for Blackett and Quinn in for Evans...

Habsi
Gunter
McShane
Moore
Obita
Quinn
Berg
Williams
Beerens
Kermorgant
McCleary

Subs

Jaakkola
Evans
Blackett
Watson
Harriott
Swift
Mendes

Ref is chris Kavanagh doing only his 2nd Reading game. His last was the 0-0 with Leeds at home last season.

Baffled that Swift isn't starting still. He seems to be our source of goals and arguably best player.

+1. Would have thought it wiser to start Swift and then bring on Williams for his energy later on if required.

Also somewhat confused as to why he'd change the back 4 that's just won 2 on the bounce conceding no goals from open play. I don't think Blackett warranted being dropped.

Happy with Quinn starting.

Presumably looking for more going forward which Obita and Quinn should bring in theory...

I would have given Blackett at least one more game, but he made three clear major errors in the last match, so I can understand.
The nudge for the pen
Letting the ball under his foot to go out
Passing it off for a corner
It may just be tactical or about resting him though, I spose. I also think Williams had a reasonably good game and it'd be hard to drop him after scoring the winner with a cool pen late on. I think Williams has distinct flaws that undermine his strengths and is a lesser player to Swift, but maybe Stam disagrees.

I think he wants a slightly more physical team out there with Quinn, Williams and Joey in the middle of the park and GMac and Beerens on the wings.
Having Swift and Beerens in there just makes us a bit lightweight. Brum are a physical side. I think Jordan Obita is certainly the 'going forward' attacking option rather than a mere defensive option.
The three changes make sense but we'll soon see how it pans out.

Hope VDB's injury is minor and it's just being overly precaucious. Looking like a very lightweight midfield for tonight though.

It's not sounding great. B'ham pressuring us and a fair few errors by the sounds. B'ham could be 2-0 up.

Ooo decent break there from us.

Gotta be Swift for Williams for me.

We're playing it nicely but no threat
