I was against this but as a short term deal to January then fair enough. By then we may have Joao back.

This is worth it if only for the meloltdown it will create on OTIB by the Bristol City bed wetting fannies who seem to be fixated with our finances.

How many weeks until he's match fit?

Wow, see what you mean. They misinterpret that royals have no money. That’s only partly true as our owner is wealthy, it’s just the club as a business is in dire straits. They also seem to forget that we sold olise and cleared a lot of players off the books last season, whom I’ll bet are big earners.

Personally I prefer the Brentford model, decent academy and sell players.

Don't Brentford not have an academy? They buy cheap and well, sell high and well.

Yep, they got rid of it because it was only Cat 2 or 3 and they couldn't compete for players with the half dozen Cat 1 academies within 40 miles of them.

Assuming we have the same
restrictions as the summer then signing Andy Carroll on a 2 month contract is going to cost us about £70,000. The Brizzle fans need to get a grip.

Not a fan but someone is better than no one for a short term deal

My understanding is that everything has to be sanctioned by the EFL with regards signings. So it's all above board. BBC Radio Berks stated we have been working with the EFL for 2 years going forward and I think in 4 transfer windows Ejaria is our only proper signing where money has been spent.
It's not like we are Derby who dug a hole for themselves by working against the EFL and challenging every decision through the law courts.

If João is back in Jan, we will need Carrol back in Feb.

That's a bit of an old-fashioned way of thinking about transfer signings though. A 'free' singing can easily create more of a financial burden on a club than one with a transfer fee.

The video the club has released of Carroll in training today looks quite hopeful. I was expecting him to have a massive beer gut but he looks pretty trim tbf.
