Where do you get 30 million a year from ?

The EFL
Annual Upper Loss Threshold £13 million

I, didn't.

It's in your post

"I mulled over options 3 and 4, But as the EFL allows a loss of 30 million a year"

Actually, it was my post. CR did me a favour in setting up the poll as I did not know to do it. Perhaps I got the amount wrong but I can see the owner will still have to put in a lot of money every month and may not want to continue to chuck money away.

Sorry, CR that you got blamed for for my mistake, but thanks once again for sorting it out for me.

Hound Depends massively on the manager

Get a decent appointment in and I’d say our best bet of a quick return is next year, with that chance decreasing every year after

Just don’t think clubs or managers get time to build up a team etc nowadays - if we end say 12th next year the manager will probably be axed again

Think the idea of us building a team over 3-4 years to prepare us for a return just isn’t a thing really. Not unless we genuinely do just pick academy boys and let them grow into the team (and that assuming they’ll end up being good enough anyway)

100% spot on. If we continue with the current model and particularly newbie managers, inexperienced managers or has beens we will go nowhere. I believe there's worse to come unfortunately, this owner is stubborn and never seems to learn, and this team needs major, major surgery.

There's nothing stopping us giving a manager time other than our own ineptitude. We shouldn’t be under the same pressure to keep rolling the.dice in L1 because we shouldn’t be in the same damger of relegation each season.

The only concern with that is that the one manager who actually got us to finish mid-table and safe got binned off immediately after anyway. But now he's running things day to day on the football side hopefully it will be different.

And we'll be more attractive to decent L1 managers than we weret to decent Championship ones.

Depends on how good the opposition teams are.

We’ll be under pressure to get promoted each season though. Let’s face it if we’re mid table at Christmas people will be calling the manager rubbish etc

The decision making for managers by Dai has been really oxf*rd confusing, gave too much time to managers who had clearly lost it and binned off others too early who were seemingly building towards something

Perhaps the better mangers we've had found themselves at odds with their employer?

I think he was just trying to reverse some of the overspending we'd done previously. That's why he signed the likes of Laurent on a comparatively smaller contract that some of our earners, openly criticised the decision to sign Puscas, told Moore that he was going to leave the club etc.

It obviously didn't fit with Dai's mission, put everything on the line to win promotion. Bowen's idea seemed to be to take a step back and try and do it sensibly (it would have taken him a while I'm sure). Obviously Dai was a believer in sticking with the same guy hoping he will turn it around, putting faith in the wrong managers ultimately.

I’m going for an immediate return via the playoffs. I think getting relegated this season will be much less catastrophic than if we’d been relegated last season. If we don’t get promoted next season the new Sky deal to start from 24/25 should be a big help financially.

1 year, nowhere and sold to another investor who thinks another stab at Thames Valley Royals is viable just so that the sale of the stadium will generate the funds for a stadium in nowhere's Ville. :D :D :D

Reading will be a phoenix club before they return.

I actually tried to post this the day in the week of relegation but for some reason it wouldn't load.

I have been picking up bad vibes about the club for a while and the length of time it is taking to appoint a new manager compounds that.
