A return to a scene of one of the best forgotten away trips last season is next.
Orient are doing rather better than the bottom of the table “failures” that encountered AFC Charity at the SCL back in September to collect their first league points at the 5th time of asking. They are now doing rather better and have climbed to 8th, 1 place and 3 points behind Reading with a much superior goal difference so this game is probably another of the “take a point if it was offered now” collection, certainly it’s another game the club will be lucky to get anything from as Orient are challenging strongly for the “form team of the division” accolade, being as they are currently on a run of 7 wins and 2 draws from their last 9 league games.
Included in that run are good away wins at Wigan (2-0) and Barnsley (4-0) so a visit from Reading I don’t think is exactly going to worry them - which might be Reading’s best hope of sneaking something.
Charlie Kelman is leading scorer for the O’s with 7 but star man is possibly midfielder Ethan Galbraith who gets involved with a lot that is good. Goals for Orient have been spread around the team and there’s been a good few coming from defenders which would suggest that giving away set pieces is not something Reading should have high on their list of match priorities.
Seems many players are suddenly back from injury, think Mbengue, Yiadom and Elliott are the only senior casualties, though the youngsters Clark and Ryan are both pretty much done for the season. Whether there’s been any reaction to those who returned v Stockport is as yet unknown so fingers crossed that which is known now doesn’t deteriorate by Saturday. Hoping that Charlie Wellens will get a place on the bench as it would be interesting to see him get a debut with his dad managing from the opposite dugout.

Historically
There have been 33 league games played at Brisbane Road between the clubs since they met there for the first time in December 1926 (lost 5-1). Reading have won 7 of the 33 games and lost 16 so a Leyton Orient win would seem to be roughly twice as likely as a Reading win.
Last season’s visit was a bit of a mess afterwards with Selles leading the players over to less than receptive away support for some reason. Not a good idea after Orient had got a very late winner and the team, at the time, on a dreadful away run of 19 games with no win.
