Pepe the Horseman Wednesday - Lose the points record
Saturday - Miss out on POs on GD
Monday - Takeover collapses and expelled from the league

Yes, that sounds like the Reading way.

Maybe the comparison is a kid being told to wait for Christmas. I've been following the saga closer than is probably better for my mental health and was genuinely looking forward to the end of it. Every time it gets pushed back an extra day/week is a kick in the nuts, particularly as last time we got to this stage it all fell through.

I got a brief reply from my source this morning along the lines of "Everyone's calm and confident. Just a matter of time".

So now we’re all convinced the club won’t be sold by the start of 6th May, or ever, do you think we should establish an official Memorial Day for future remembrance focus?

Would you say it's time for everyone to crack each other's heads open, and feast on the goo inside?

No, there really is no point getting overly sentimental. It’s over, just move on and find another unhealthy obsession.

Absolutely. One thing is for certain: there is no stopping Couhig pulling out of the sale and The Ants will soon be here. And I, for one, welcome our new insect nicknamed park player overlords. I'd like to remind them as a loyal nobber, I can be helpful in rounding up others to watch them toil in the underground sugar cave known as the combined counties league.

I don't know why some are panicking or worried (beyond the usual levels I mean).

If it wasn't for the big game tomorrow, we'd just be waiting until Monday and the deadline - like we did last time. The only reason people are hoping more than they would usually, is because with the game, the feel of a big occasion, big crowd, special guests, it has an extra edge to it all.

But otherwise, the deadline is set for Monday, no expectation of official updates so the lack of them I don't find worrying at all.

Except of course, there were all of the ITK postings saying it would be done no later than Friday (ie: today); it may still happen today, but as stated at the time, it was easy enough for those people to suggest that (offering no evidence to back up such a statement) when the deadline is on Monday, and the most likely time a deal would be done is by the end of this week.

If it happens - woo hoo, they are 100% ITK.

If it doesn't happen, everyone will be too panicked about what will happen to the Club to be worried about calling the BS out; and anyway, there is always the "It was definitely going to happen, but then Dai pulled the rug at the last minute...the o*ford!!" excuse to be played if it doesn't happen.

Personally - and this is just speculation on my part as I most definitely am NOT ITK in any way - I think the news that RC has bought Reading FC will break either very late (post 6pm) today, or tomorrow morning, but before the game for maximum positive impact.

If it doesn't get done by then, then get the popcorn in to watch the board have a collective breakdown...........and Monday becomes a VERY stressful day!

I stopped worrying or getting stressed about it a long time ago. There's absolutely nothing I can do on an individual level to influence what's happening so why worry?. I've got plenty of other things I do have control over to worry about.

I think the tie in with tomorrow is a particular frustration that it's not done. Big crowd, chance of the play offs. Get the deal done and announced and it's a special celebration that not even a bad performance will spoil. And any remaining tickets will get snapped up.

Another extension on Monday and it's a bit anti climatic, especially if we finish 7th.

I have a source currently living in Joshua Jebb Way, Crowthorne

We are merging with Aldershot and will be

I agree with both of those points. I'd imagine the club are pushing hard to get it done today. It's Friday, end of the working week before a bank holiday Monday, so from a business perspective it makes sense. Especially with the deadline coming up.

Then add in there the football side, with the crowd, end of a good season, potential play off spot and the very last game of the season.

It all makes sense for it to be today. Although that's putting aside Dai Yongge and his antics!
