I think Reading hiring it out to other clubs etc would constitute Reading using it since they are benefitting from it financially, but I can't remember the exact wording of the Planning Permission

Crusader Royal Scrub away season tickets, no revenue for us in selling tickets on behalf of another club and only any point of most games are sold out. Even then we already have a way of prioritising sales .
Music events are very hard to do here. We’re too close to London and they are a huge commercial risk.
We can’t 8i
run non match day events on the car park as we don’t own it.
Summer tournaments - no chance, the pitch has to be got back into shape and there is only a couple of months to do it in.
Schools and clubs already hire out the Domes.
How would pop up fan zones work ? Would people sit in the rain on a Saturday afternoon to watch us away at Barnsley when they can watch it at home ? How would it make money (enough to guarantee it didn’t lose money) ?
We already have a membership scheme with different tiers. Doesn’t make any money. They have done various things with it including meet the player events and access to training.
Lounges and boxes do get used for events - business meetings, product launches, Christmas company events

And with most of the others it’s easy to have vague ideas but much harder to make them work and make money. No reason not to brainstorm stuff of course but a lot of it has been done before…..

Come on man ... As you say, it's brainstorming. All of those ideas were generated with about 10 minutes of thought and showing the sheer plethora of possibilities. Not all of it about making money, but also about generating interest, raising profile, adding different elements to the club - rather than it just being about a fixture every Saturday and nothing more.

I think your reply is unnecessarily negative - you've done nothing but poo poo the post.

Feel free to give your own ideas rather than just p1ss on my strawberries

You could definitely run summer tournaments in the stadium - other teams do it inc Wycombe. It’d be a big draw. They could do them in the domes as well. Or the training ground.

I don’t think we’re so close to London that you couldn’t hold an event in the stadium. We’re a good hour if not hour and half away from any London venue really

Yeah New Zealand trained at Bearwood last season didn't they so I am sure there's scope for the club to rent it out in certain circumstances.

Wrexham have also used the facilities before when playing down south.

Re: news of the take over being confirmed. Isn’t this the sort of thing that should attract a press conference at the club to officially confirm given both Rob and Todd are in the country. Would be the obvious way to start and for local media to ask the obvious questions before the big hitters of Tim at the Beeb and James at the Chronic give the new owners a separate grilling about the plans going forward.

Tim Dellor? Big Hitter?

I wouldn't trust him to tie my shoelaces. He would probably do it wrong

I would be pretty surprised if Couhig didn't put on a big press conference at some point. He's not exactly the shy, retiring type.

The club can't organise anything though until Couhig is officially in charge.

With 90 mins to go until the extension deadline, and despite being told ‘there is nothing to be concerned about’, is anyone becoming concerned? Even just slightly?

I've been told that there's absolutely nothing to worry about. I'm still worried though.

I am starting to get concerned. If we want to make a real impact then we really need it over the line by end of week so we can start sorting contracts out etc. I think it’s either for to be another extension or a suspension. You’d think someone would have been tipped off if it had all gone through.

Given all that’s happened, someone assuring us there’s nothing to worry about is no assurance whatsoever, I’m afraid.

The club shouldn’t have made an announcement if there were still things that could go wrong or get delayed. Couhig’s jumped the gun again it might appear

They may have also made the EFL look silly by presumably briefing them it’s days away only to require multiple extensions

But the EFL made the same announcement. They wouldn't have done that if they were seriously worried of it all falling over.

I don't think you can pin the blame on RC for this one.

My wife told me not to worry, he was just her personal trainer....

The deal is all signed by Dai and his lawyers, EFL are confident the deal will be complete today or tomorrow morning.
