Pepe the Horseman Mr Couhig has PROMISED some big announcements next week.

Hhhmmm....

So given he specifically posted the hashtag "#Reading Monday" in that tweet

And as far as I can tell no announcements were made yesterday (bar two behind closed door pre-season friendlies)

is teasing news better than no news?....

"#Reading Monday" was just him getting revenge on all the book groups who post on #ReadingFC

Or it meant he was arriving in Reading on Monday

Hound Thought Couhig comes over very well on the interview

Get the impatience to have the squad in place and obviously with so few under contract we do need to work quickly there, but fully agree getting the infrastructure and foundations right for the future is massively important and like the things he is talking about

He seems to have a really good vision for how a football club should be run

Yep, totally agree. You just can't imagine Dai Yongge ever having this sort of thought process.

Finally done an interview with the official channel. A real breath of fresh air - let's hope the next couple of weeks go as he's suggesting and we go into next season with real excitement.

He certainly talks a good game, comes across as very likeable. Hopefully it works out and he leaves us in a far better position than he found us in.

Expectations are growing.

Well, Missy is absolutely adorable isn't she?

It already brings a feeling that it's is a family not a corporation that is entrusted with the future of our wonderful club.

And she runs a bookshop.

There's certainly a lot of talking things up....

not so good on timeframes - suggesting some deals would be announced 'before the end of this interview' - which took place on Tuesday....

Also - pretty clear that he is talking a 2-3 year timeline before the club is flipped - he's given these timelines in a few interviews..

So why did the Official RFC interviewer asked him about the vision for the next 5 or 10 years - its pretty irrelevant as he clearly doesn't envisage holding onto the club that long...

All that being said, 'leaving the club in a better position than when he bought it' - i.e. 7th in League 1 is good enough for me...

the rest of it - AI driven, Global Royals TV and a spectacular transfer window - are just words and words are cheap...

I wonder with the signings if he's underestimating how long it takes to tie up the loose ends. Working in a job with lots of governance, I know first hand how even simple stuff can take ages to get through all the reviews, governance and sign offs; it makes me tear my hair out frequently.

I wonder if a few deals are basically done and going through all the necessary approvals and registrations with the EFL, FA etc., are taking ages. Couhig probably backs himself as a man who can "get things done" and is sending out messages too early. It wouldn't be the first time.

Might be different if he had previous experience of running a football league club…..

Well, yes, but this is a man who has bought and sold countless businesses and that didn't stop him announcing himself last September before he was done.

Hopefully there are no last minute gazumpings in the signatures we're trying to push through, but it would hardly be unprecedented. I seem to remember we signed Stephen Hunt in similar circumstances - he got as far as travelling to Bradford to get it done.

.

He was encouraged to do so by the shysters 'running' or rather ruining our club. He fell for their deceit. as it seems numerous other successful business people and banks did as well, judging by all the court findings against Dai, particularly in China.
