Lovely two page spread dedicated to Alf in the NL Paper today. His Reading days feature quite heavily and with Alf only having positive things to say.

Should hope so too! Reading was the peak of his career, played more games for Reading than any other club and starred in that PL season (it’s “Le Fondre time”). It’s been over a decade since he left (thanks to the Russian  ) and he’s now 38.

When he has to show his cards, do you think he sometimes stops mid-way to pull his socks up?

He used to live in Ducketts Mead next door to a friend of ours. We were amazed when he moved in with a hired van and his mate unloading everything. Any back injury would have screwed us!

Does that mean he can still drive if he is sober?

Despite a few Championships clubs being interested it would appear that Barnsley are leading the chase to sign Caylan Vickers on loan for the season.

Who says we weren't?

However, bar immediate loan backs it is very, very rare for a club to loan a young player back to the club they bought him from. Loans are meant to be a test of a player and to develop them, sending a player "home" is unlikely to do either of those things.

Obvs assuming Kelvin is re-signing, we’ve got

Kelvin
O’Mahony
Camara
Garcia
Osho
Tuma
Okine Peters
Kyerewaa

As forward options. Wouldnt say we were especially short on numbers and wouldn’t be looking to add another young inexperienced player on loan to that such as Vickers

Just need a bit more experience- Bowler would be great and then maybe one more - but no rush on that tbh

Really need at least 2 more, a main and back up striker unless one of the young players looks like they can step up.
