Royalcop We as fans might not lose patience if we have a slow start but I’m not sure we can say the same about the owners. Incumbent managers often don’t last long after an ownership change and I think the new regime won’t be slow to make a change if we start badly. What’s Gareth Ainsworth up to now anyway?

I really don’t know why everyone is so obsessed with Ainsworth.
He didn't do well at QPR, he finished bottom with Shrewsbury and he's currently managing Gillingham, who didn’t look all that in preseason.
I hardly think Couhig is going to go and just run and hire him at the first opportunity because he did ok at Wycombe 4 years ago.

Hound He’ll probably always be questioned because of how he got the job
I see lots of positives with Hunt, genuinely likeable guy, good motivator etc. but he obviously lacks experience. I don’t think they’ll look to kick him out at the first opportunity
Tactically I’ve definitely concerns - not saying I know loads better or anything, but at times we do seem to be completely done on a tactical side. Like Saturday - where player for player we did ok but couldn’t cope with a fairly simple Pompey tactic of getting in behind and putting in low crosses
I don’t really get this inverted winger thing either. Garcia is very left footed and Kelv is predominantly right footed - they quite often seem to be spending time getting it onto their stronger foot. I know it seems almost accepted than Kelv is a left winger but I don’t really get why - I think he’d be more effective on the right and Garcia left

blythspartan Todd giving Noel his backing on X. Hopefully, that’s not ominous.
I love Noel and he’s still learning. I just want to see him develop a style of football that works. It feels a bit like McDermott ball atm, but without the same quality out wide.
I was expecting us to give Pompey a tough game on Saturday, but we were very poor. Pompey could have doubled their goal tally and we barely had a chance. At least there’s a long way to go, but realistically we’ll do well to finish top half.

It's just the modern way isn’t it?
Wingers haven't been there to go outside and cross for years. And with only 1 striker doing that is far less effective anyway.
These days wingers are there to cut inside and shoot. I would say Kelvin actually goes round the outside and to the byline more than most wingers we've had in ages.

Dunno, some teams certainly don’t use inverted wingers. Portsmouth ruined us by putting wide and getting crosses in exactly that fashion. Forest in the prem is one that comes to mind though tbf no idea what is the favoured foot of their wingers. I think it was what Chem Campbell was meant to, and occasionally did provide, last year
Just seems we’ve assumed it as a tactic which isn’t actually working brilliantly

The Todd email was likely in response to a number of the usual Twitter idiots saying they were setting up Noel to fail so they could bring in Ainsworth.
