Clyde1998 Song idea, for when he ends up scoring:

To the tune of: Super Trouper by ABBA Let's go barmy;
We've got Mark O'Mahony;
Playing in white and blue;
Scoring one or two;
Putting on a show for you.

How about a bit of Chesney Hawkes?

I am Mark O'Mahoney
Nobody I'd rather be
I am Mark O'Mahoney
Can't take that away from me

O'Mahony didn't get on the pitch for Ireland U21's 1-0 win over Andorra. Mason Melia of St Patrick's Athletic, and is joining Tottenham in January (once he's hit age eighteen), started; Michael Noonan (Shamrock Rovers) replaced him and scored the sole goal. Both are seventeen.

It will be interesting to see if this was simply because they thought they'd beat Andorra easily or whether O'Mahony is genuinely behind those two now.

Good, his being here is wasting our time, Brighton's time and his time.

Hope he can get a fresh start and do better elsewhere.

He really never recovered from a rotten start which is a shame as it sounded like he did quite well at Pompey before getting injured.

Unfortunately he's got to be a contender for worst signing we've ever made and I'm glad he's off the books. Nothing against the bloke and hope he comes good elsewhere.

Worked hard and seemed to have a good attitude

Everything else was pretty much a disaster

2/4 loans going back early is a pretty damning indictment of our recruitment in the summer.

Indeed and plenty more before that.

That said, I am struggling to see much of a career pathway for MOM. He looked so far off what you'd want from a League 1 striker, let alone the division Brighton play in. No pace, not great in the air, not really that good at holding up the ball, and rather sluggish in the box. I'm not even sure his workmate was that impressive either. Given the improvement in Kelvin E from working with Beattie, I'd hoped we'd have seen the striker that did well at Pompey, but alas no. Hopefully a regular run-out at League 2 will start to rebuild some confidence.

Not really a surprise given a new manager will have new ideas and needs to rejig his options. Also 1 of the 2 returned was returned due to injury so i don’t think it’s much of a damning indictment on the recruitment.

Of those recruited only MOM was a complete waste of time, though Jacob never looked brilliant he got injured before being able to benefit from the new management team which has already seemed to improve both WiFi and Burns. Marriott and both Williams’ have been excellent so far, Ritchie & O’Connor are pretty decent, Doyle is starting to show something useful, Kyerewaa is getting better too. Lane has been a player who generally puts a decent shift in but has suffered from being unlucky at key moments and we all know what Rinomhota brings to a party. I’d therefore suggest the recruitment so far has been decent though could have been better as the squad is short of options and they still haven’t really solved the LB issue plus there needs to be a bit of pace at the back, and a good old fashioned Quinn or Morley type around the place would help.

Can’t really think of much he did worthy of any comment beyond having an annoying surname.

Sometimes these things work out, sometimes they don’t, and it’s not always related to the player’s ability.

Pretty much.

On this sort of thing, if it’s not working (or we’ve changed manager again because LOLz) and we lose nothing, get rid and try again.

Sorry, only just seen this.

I live in Mexico City, up a hill in the South-West corner of the city. What's your connection to Mexico?

Also, not even close to the much cheaper Bongani Khumalo

Not that damning... one of them was allegedly injury based, and its a small number of the many signings we made.

Nice fella apparently but totally useless for us.

The only thing he achieved IIRC was educating us re: the pronunciation of some Irish names. I'm sure Hunt could have told us that for free though tbf, if we'd asked.

Clearly an injury was rather exaggerated, but I doubt he didn't have any injury at all from Carlisle
