WestYorksRoyal With him and Marriott, we basically have a guarantee that if we create chances we'll score goals.

So how we get the best out of Wing, Savage, Kyerewaa, Doyle etc., is the key thing to work on.

There is never a guarantee of goals

Especially if you stick him out on the wing  Had we played to Vydra’s strengths he would have been a lot better for us.

And if you take his cup games into account he scored 9 in 36. Which is 1 in 4 which is about his average everywhere

I like little quizzes like that. Now if anyone can tell me who this is I will be impressed

Could have been a potential great for the club but we couldn’t ever get a work permit for him so had to get rid in the end. Currently on 46 games and counting for Georgia

Why did we have him for 2 years without either playing or having a work permit?

Touring the Georgian National teams for 2014 leads me to suggest the answer is Lasha Dvali.

I also don't think choosing a player notorious for being a 'confidence' player with a rather up and down scoring record is hugely helpful.

Every player plays better if they’re confident, what would cause some loss of their confidence is having a prize plum of a manager who brings a player in and then fails miserably to play them in their proper position and to their strengths which is just what we had with Vydra and then Grabban.

WRT Grabban, we clearly asked him to do a role that was within his skillset and he did an excellent job at it. I think we played so much better with him on the pitch in that season. It's one of those where I wonder if I'm watching the same game as the people on here.

Wasn't Grabban suffering really badly with crohn's while he was with us?

Not sure but do recall that Chris Martin was suffering with something similar when he was with us (but only disclosed after he'd left)

Martin had ulcerative colitis and basically shat himself to sleep every night.

I seem to recall players that have come here with decent scoring records at other clubs, Lewis Grabban has been mentioned, Jaap Stam played him out wide, Matej Vydra didn`t really happen for him.
Billy Sharp didn`t do so well either, here`s hoping this guy hits the ground running.

And every time he was in the opposition 18 yard box
