 Didn't realise that was Floyd.
His self-imposed exile didn't last long did it, back in pre-season.

I thought it was Floyd on the basis that his voice was incredibly loud, and his sun hat.

mikey0406 a season playing the youth and finishing a comfortable mid table....would take that!

Sounds awful to me.

I really thought HRK had great promise and he did well goals-wise in the relegation season.

But he just seems to be getting worse. Apart from being cute and saying "he's shit", anyone any ideas? Is he too bulky?

Wants to be elsewhere? Thinks he's made it and better than he is, so less effort now?

He'd always struck me before the Prem as a player who spent too long waiting for a defender to make a mistake rather than forcing them into one the way a good attacker does. I thought he'd learnt from some of the reviews he got in the prem. Maybe not.

He'll probably still step up with half a dozen goals no matter how bad he plays, providing he gets on the pitch 20 odd times. Now I'm not sure if he'd do much better even if he started every match though.

He's just on a different wavelength to everyone else, and not in a Matejovsky way. You wouldn't call his style of play 'intelligent'.

Yep, it was. Woman sat next to him was his Mrs to be who's a Barnsley STH and hadn't done Adams Park before. That was the main prerequisite for his visit. He won't be at many games this season..

That Blackman incident was funny though

I've always thought of him as being better on the break. I don't think clever passing an a slow build-up suits him. It's not that I think he's good at running with the ball and jinking past people either it's more that loose sort of play where it's been fired forward quickly and everyone's stretching. Plus obvs he's got a decent long shot.

Royal Ginger Very enjoyable listening to it on Wycombe Player. Balanced commentary, excellent analysis, and they got the sound levels/distance from the mic right too which was a nice change. One thing i noticed though was how quickly the commentators picked up on the trends (all corners going to Pearce on the back post, Pog's strengths and weaknesses etc.). We still seem to be telegraphing everything we're going to do with little/no surprises.

I thought they were great. Both knew a fair bit about Reading and the players, which was refreshing. I loved the main commentator trying to say the Pog's name, someone had to sound it out for him, but he ended up calling him the big russian after apologising to Reading fans listening about butchering his name. I really enjoyed it.

He should hear some of the names Reading fans call Pog.

Some lovely little passes from Edwards here, and some nice movement from JT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HizYw_R ... e=youtu.be

I like the attempts at slick passing through the team, with the purpose of getting at the defence. Some inventive stuff, lacking a little polish or conviction at times, but positive none the less. Cutting edge not quite there still.

It'll be harder to do against better sides in competitive matches with a higher pressing tempo. But that's more like what I was hoping to see last season.

Edwards impressing, first time I've seen anything of him.

I fear that Edwards and Taylor are playing against opposition who are just below their level, ie League 1 to League 2. It will be interesting to see how they go against the Swans.

I must admit they do feel like a breath of fresh air though.

And where exactly did you see him? Youth game behind closed doors or in Australia?

Just to show off I did see him playing a first team game for Perth Glory. Before his dad was sacked, and I thought he was good, but as it was over 30 degrees it was not the most energetic game!

I've seen him play at least 4 times for the u21s, he was always decent but never stood out. But if he's only 20 he's younger than I thought and would have been 18/19 at the time which would explain that.

He always looked like a tidy player, but never really impacted a game in the way others did. That can probably be partly be explained by the fact that he was physically small and not particularly strong, but he was also playing out wide in most of the games I remember whereas now he's playing in the middle and getting on the ball more often.

Obviously we shouldn't get too excited as he's had lots of space to work in during the last couple of games, and it will be when he's getting kicked and harried that we'll see whether he'll truly cut it. I think he has plenty of development left in him though, he still looks like he's got some physical developing to do, and his emergence is just a massive bonus really as I think we'd all pretty much written him off back in June.

Wow Peps, gr8 work. Almost as good as my post on the buyout thread from last Jan:

winchester_royal Reckon our new owner will probably come from Asia, likely Thailand, and with some silly name like Samrit Bunditkitsada or something
