No Fixed Abode Takings for the 2nd half of the season in the concourses and club shop fell by 26.2%.

Why would you mix those two ?
One is run by RFC, the other is franchised out to Compass.

Because nothing else Kes has said is related or makes sense so why not?

No Fixed Abode Well yes.

If you sell a player for £4m and he's on 20k a week
and then you bring in a replacement who costs in the region of 500k and is on 25k a week
you have to offset that expense. It wasn't like Reading sold Blackman and didn't re-invest some back into the team.
Coupled with the fact of dwindling attendances with reduced match day revenue and an even worse run of form under BM.

So the point here is - was selling Blackman actually that good a deal in hindsight? It's certainly not as great as some people are making out.

I'll humour you.

This is why this forum is so mind-numbingly dull.

I mean, everyone slates kes for being some weird, monotonous, repetitive groundhog spamming the board with the same argument over. Then they do exactly the same by responding to his long dead, old hat point like they have never seen it or countered it before.

80% of this forum is people arguing with kes. I thought he was strange what with keeping this shit up (I still don't understand what he, a grown man, gets out of this - he has to be ill?) but it's even stranger watching previously sane people getting drawn into these autistic cycles under the delusion they are treading new ground.

Seriously, newcomers used to think we just had one resident nutter, like every forum. Now they'd see a forum of 6-7 live threads of the same people saying the same thing over and over and think the forum is exclusively for the seriously mentally ill.

Something interesting to read on here these days, the rare pocket of normal non-kes conversation which has a bit of fun/energy about it, takes longer and longer to find each day.

I even know what the Mentalist's response will be and it depresses me a bit that I have such weak lameness etched into my brain from overexposure.

Boring, boring stuff.

Yeah, alright. I try not to get drawn in to extended exchanges too much, but as you ask so nicely, I'll join the troll ignorers society.

Is this a TB rule or forum wide?

I do find Kes to be a remarkable subject of study, everyone knows he's a Chelsea fan and all he seems to do is goad people here and seemingly quite successfully and as far as I can see, has one of the highest post count on the forum. I'd say whatever he's doing or trying to achieve, he's pretty good at it.

I only engage because I find a strange sense of entertainment from it... I know I shouldn't.

Mind, a lot of the dull monotonous conversation is down to the close season/Reading having a completely inconsequential season and fairly turgid results since the turn of the year. The only subjects worth talking about Kes seems to hijack.

The board just seems to be
"Well, we have been quite shit lately"
"Yes, Brian should go"
"No he shouldn't, it's Clarke's fault, he needs the summer"
"No he should go now"

Repeat ad nauseam.

I have raised some valid points to counteract the argument - whether it was such a good deal to sell Blackman. It seems strange to go down the route of your response if you don't agree with those points. I've pointed out to you before you tend to throw your toys out of the pram if someone has or raises a different point of view to you. You could simply ignore it as it clearly winds you up so much.

But as a self confessed drug taker - you're clearly the 'normal' one EP. I mean that's a mature thing that 'grown men' do isn't it?

Forum wide, imo. He's more tedious on AE than anywhere else, though he obviously gets more weird joy spreading made-up shit about people on the public forum. I'm being as careful as I can tbh, because I do think there is a very real chance he is ill. But this forum was more interesting when it was being spammed by gobbledegook viruses. Groundhog kes and his mission to desperately fill every thread with his witless clichéd troll stuff is so dull it's painful to visit the forum these days.

He's just so odd. I wonder what dark shit drives him to do it. Doesn't bear thinking about but I wouldn't let him near any children ftr

Fair enough. I'll nominate the EU Nemsa thread as the designated take the piss out of him thread.

I know I'm terrible and post too much, but at least I'm here to genuinely talk about football.

Club still gets the money, not Compass.

Are you sure ?
Do Compass not pay us a fee to operate the catering and then it's up to them to maximise their revenue ?
Doesn't seem much point in Compass getting involved otherwise.

Let's be clear here kes - you really haven't. The sum of argument was that we've sold less packets of Walkers Crisps as a result of a strikers transfer.

Football clubs are run as a BUSINESS these days in case you haven't noticed. Poor form on the pitch has a knock on effect on the rest of the business. Just ask the employees or now former employees of Newcastle United after their relegation.

but, the key here is- is repeated argument with Kes less boring than work?

Plus when someone asks if it was a good idea to sell blackman, the answer is so overwhelmingly "yes!" its very hard not to say so.
