Brilliant. Time to welcome back all the kids who put their Chelsea shirts back on in 2008. Time to see overpaid prima donnas grace the pitch again. Time for JM to use it all as a PR stunt and state his "ambition". Time for media pundits to make a load of uneducated comments about our side again and pronounce all our players names wrong. Time to enter a game where we'll be perfectly happy to lose 2 or 3 nil (where's the excitement in that?). Time for all the Liverpool fans we know to laud it over us when they never go to matches and know nothing about what being a real football fan is. Rejoice everybody, "The Best League in the World" is returning to the Mad Stad for one day only.

It saddens me how excited I would have once been about this. What happened to me? I think our excursion in the Premiership took the exciting and unknown element about such matches away from me.

Good post. But it's still a good draw.

Calm down Floyd, I'm not saying we'll win, just that it'll be a decent, competitive game.

A replay, and all the financial benefits that'd come, would be very nice indeed.

From my point of view it presents one game I can realistically make over Christmas. I'm only home from HK for 2 weeks and I live right the other side of the M25 from Reading now so making matches isn't always easy. This game shouldn't clash with family commitments too much and I should be able to go. I'd much rather be able to go to a league game that really matters though.

I, for one, probably won't be there.

Well f*cking good. Maybe you could stay away from a few more games too?

Interestingly the game is in the middle of Villa away, and Spurs at home for Liverpool.

Might benefit us...

I've been wracking up loyalty points for a while now - over 300 I believe. Considering I've spent the entire time since the system was introduced no nearer than Essex, with a 6 month stint in India, 2 years being a student in Leeds and now this year in HK, I will be very bitter if I don't get a ticket. I do take your point though, nothing is certain. How many ST holders do we have? 12,000? That allows another 10,000 fans. Can't imagine 10,000 fans having more than 300. Did all the plastics with their Premiership season tickets get loyalty points for them?

I know its not ball 32 related, but loving the draw for Lincoln. Away to Bolton, Lincoln being my local team at the moment.

Gets a bit of money in for a struggling league 2 club and a decent day out for them.
