Right, we're going to use one of our few loan spots for someone to play U21 football, sure.

i'm being facetious obviously, but he's shit, we wont see more than a couple of goals from him this season

Great - based on a couple of friendlies against higher div teams with zero service

He may end up as shite but give him a chance. I’ll guess he’ll score more than Twitter hero Devante Cole this season

agreed... I'm going for Cole with 1 goal and O Mahony with 2.

Pepe the Horseman If only there was a middle ground. You can't tell fans it's going to be a spectacular transfer window then blame them for having unrealistic expectations.

I think you can blame people for not just rolling their eyes and ignoring obvious American hyperbolic bullshit.

Yeh you can't blame those whacky millionaires for saying it, it's the idiot fans' fault for believing it.

They’d have gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for those meddling realists.

Brogue RC: ‘A very very good team on day one’.

Dated 21st July 2025.

 This is what is grinding the gears of fans.

He just needs to keep his mouth shut.

We want communication, we want communication!!

Not like that. Not like that!

If only there was a middle ground. You can't tell fans it's going to be a spectacular transfer window then blame them for having unrealistic expectations.

Sure you can . We've all got brains. We all know the situation. We can all ignore hype. It's not like they weren't also saying we wouldn't be spending on transfer fees and the club has to be self funding.

If one is fooled into thinking our transfers would be much better because of some social media American hype, frankly, one is an idiot.

The thing is, and the soundbites were a big mistake, is that the owners have been clear this is a five year job to steady the ship and get back to being a Champ club - however, people on social media tend to have short attention spans so forget or ignore that in preference to quick, positive soundbites.

The problem with that particular soundbite is it can mean many things to different people - to him it may mean we'll have a strong squad based on young players we have developed but for someone on X, it means, we are going to sign 12 players, each more amazing than the on before and when that doesn't happen the noise is intolerable.

Something does appear to be going wrong this summer and the lack of attacking signings to date is frankly not a good look even if there are valid reasons for it.

We’ve known we need to replace smith since January. The fact we are 4 days from the start of the season and have no striker in yet, Regardless of sound bites is piss poor.

O'Mahoney. As was pointed out to you the last time you said this iirc.

Ok, so they're contradicting themselves and we have to pick and choose what we should believe? That's just the communication everyone's being crying out for!

Perhaps we need an Ian Royal translates American bullshit thread so our resident genius can educate the idiotic plebs of HNA? on what our Yank overlords are actually saying.

Hound We do obviously need more depth for the rest of the season

I’d argue O Mahoney has had next to zero service of any use. Don’t think you can make a great judgement other than he’s quite big and works hard

He has scored 3 in 13 in the champ though and 14 in 21 Prem League 2 games, so clearly can score a goal.

He's only 5ft 9ins

Although undoubtedly raw, O’Mahony possesses attributes that allow him to be a multi-dimensional forward: competent at stretching backlines, hold-up play and goal-poaching. Currently, aspects of this skillset rely on his commanding physical profile; deceptively mobile, he stands over 6”0’ tall with a broad frame.

I’ve stood next to him. He’s not 5ft 9. I’d have guessed at 6ft1

On the flip side he was with Burns and didn’t think he was anything like the 6ft 5 reported
