How can Stoke afford Baker? Barnsley, time to get those solicitors busy again.

Bournemouth just dont look convincing at the minute. If it wasnt for the fact they had games in hand they would be shitting bricks.

tidus_mi2 So the same Millwall we lost to just had 0 shots against Blackburn tonight.

That would be the Blackburn that are 4th and have one of the meanest defences in the league?

So pretty good by us to only concede 1 goal and 2 on target when we have the second worst defence.

Unfortunately you don’t get any points for only conceding one goal and not scoring.

Basically, in amongst their other players, they can't, that's why FFP is on their tails now.

After last night, the bottom line is that we are 5 points clear of Derby & Barnsley, and 7 points clear of Posh, with none of those bottom 3 having any games in hand over us (whilst we have one over Derby), and with 11 games left to play.

Could be a lot worse.

windermereROYAL Blackburn have scored 3 goals in 12 games.

Possibly a good thing we play them before the international break and have a chance to get their act together.

Happy with the draw but 5 points is a nervy place to be. With our shaky defence, I feel we are very catchable, and we really need Barnsley and Dopey to continue being worse than us. Hopefully we can pick up a few unlikely wins and ease the pressure on ourselves soon. This team is spineless, and if we lose that lead, we're done.

So 3 wins and 2 draws would leave them needing 16 points to catch us. Which is not unheard of; teams at the bottom often go on a little run at the end of the season. But I'd also suggest it's unlikely.

It was only not for the days between the Peterboro draw and the Preston win.

Interestingly* I took a look at the form table over 10 games as we are pretty much there now - well Derby are.

If the form over the last 10 games continues over the last 10/11 then the bottom 4 looks like this come end of the season.

21 Reading 37pts
22 Barnsley 35
23 Derby 34
23 Peterboro 26

Over 6 game form, Barnsley beat the drop.

Based on current form, Derby and Peterborough should go and the final place is a shoot out between us and Barnsley but we all know football is unpredictable.

Barnsley are on their run now I would suggest - 10pts from past 6 games. They would need to repeat that run to give them a chance.

Derby need to find away to stop losing away - 5 in a row now - else their home games become incredibly high pressure. If they fail to pick up any or many points away then they will be looking at needing to win all of their home games.

We just need a way to be less shit than those 2 as unless Peterborough can pull back to back wins out of the bag, they are gone. Last night may give them some hope though.

Blackburn have not scored a goal away from Ewood Park for over 9 hours now - we all know where they are visting next.

It was up until last night as, if Barnsley had won all of their remaining games, before last night's draw, they would have stayed up on goal difference, so survival was in their hands, however they are now relying on us dropping points, as are Derby and Peterborough.

Barnsley will have to continue their form between now and the end of the season I think if they are going to beat the drop, which I don't think they will do. I still think Derby are the greatest threat, we could just use both themselves and Barnsley just not winning any of their next couple of games, preferably losing them. If anything, it just chalks off the games between now and the end of the season.
