Reading now 1 point clear of Cheltenham in 23rd! 2 points behind Carlisle.

Sad thing is there's 2 cup games to play before the much harder challenge of Barnsley arrives in town.

Winston Biscuit I wonder what it's like living in Carlisle. Loads of great countryside nearby so probs gr8 if you've got money and time, but also probs gash if you are young and looking to make your way in life

Good performance, great to score 5. Well done Azeez and Knibbs for being key and who have been rightfully criticized for lack of contributions. The confidence is coming back.

WTF is Carlisle's away kit

Agreed, trailing to Leipzig for so long is totally unacceptable.

There is a YouTube channel called turd towns. It’s mostly a guy travelling to shit towns and saying why they’re shit in his opinion. Wales features heavily as does Cornwall. He even has a pop at Bristol.

He basically made a good case for Carlisle being one of the best places to live in the UK. He’s overly focussed though on bland chain retail and its survival imo, and refuses to accept that the High Streets of the 90s and noughties he loved are dead or dying and they’re not coming back.

blythspartan This is my first game since the draw against the Gasheads. I think we’ll lose 1-0 but I am hoping for a 5-1 home win.

I want Vickers to replace Ballard and he had better not drop Craig. If Ballard goes back to Southampton can we replace him with an experienced free agent?

I got my wish.

Carlisle's alright when it's not under 6ft of water.

It's due another big flood on the next 18 months.

When the return fixture comes, it's a cracking away day. For those who want to drink, I can recommend the Settle to Carlisle train across the Dales. Perfect train beer scenery.

That was quite a cup performance from the lads.

And Carlisle certainly looked not far from the quality of the sides we've faced in the Trophy and FA Cup. Although No 27 was a handful.

Another good performance from Azeez. Wing and Craig ran the show once we got into it, and you could see glimpses of what the side is capable of if they haven't had all the confidence and belief beaten out of them by the useless manager. Knibbs much more involved and a good goal. Absolute belter from Wing.

Mukairu loves a trick he isn’t good enough to justify, and running straight into defenders, but he was alright. Smith worked hard.

Back four were quality. Subs good.

Hopefully beat Eastleigh and Charlton. Before crashing back down to Earth against an actually quite good Barnsley side.

Makes a difference having a solid goalkeeper who may not be spectacular but isn’t particularly prone to howlers.

Makes more of a difference playing your fullbacks deeper and with more support so they don’t have to provide all the width in attack then teleport back into position to defend

Plus some width from attacking players who also track back, rather than trying to pass through straight lines up the pitch over which you could toss a large blanket.

Dorsett may not be our best lb on paper but he’s the best performing one so far this season. Solid.
