Silver Fox
windermereROYAL Barnsley away to Sheffield united kicking off 12.30 Saturday, in theory we could be bottom 3 when our game starts.

Or we could be 2 points clear with a game in hand

Indeed, much more likely though who knows at this point of the season. Barnsley have 7 points on the road this year - their 1 win was at Hull and that is thier only points on the road in the last 8.

Both our immediate rivals will be done before we kick off on Saturday - that is a pretty big advantage I think. As we'll either know we need to win to get back out, or more likely have the chance to move away a bit.

If either Derby or Barnsley win (or both) I think we will win. If neither of them win, we won't either. That's just what I'm going for.

Interesting game actually, how much of a derby game is it, a spicy affair or an insipid non event like Reading v QPR?

See both Barnsley goals and 2 of the 3 Blackburn goals came from corners

Good chance to see whether ince has managed to fix that in the next few games….

Pepe the Horseman Bradley Dack played for the U23s yesterday I think, so he should be back just in time to play us.

Hasn’t he basically been out for 2 years with much the same injury as Meite? He’ll do extremely well to get up to any sort of level this season

Mowbray says he is not match fit and will be on the bench this weekend. He hasn’t played for a year. So if he does play against us he won’t be match sharp.

Played 45 yesterday and got an assist.

Brogue I see derby have just sold someone for 2 mill to the mls. That should keep them going till the end of the season.

Oh do keep up, i think that was discussed about 3 pages ago.

For some reason, BBC only reported it today

Derby sold Kamil Jozwiak to Charlotte FC last week. Makes sense, it didn’t work out at Derby & they need cash. Fresh start for the player.

Small problem: Derby have only paid Lech Poznan 25% of the c€4m fee agreed in 2020 & the Polish side want the rest.

Reading this it doesn't sound like Poznan are likely to get their money any time soon:

That's so wrong. Derby really are a despicable little club. Whatever happens to us this season, I hope Derby get what they deserve and spend a long time in the third division.

Definitely a derby game. There is only about 10-15 miles between the grounds. It's obviously overshadowed by the Sheffield derby, but United see Barnsley as a bigger rival locally than others around them (Rotherham, Doncaster) due to Barnsley predominantly being the best of the local sides around them that they usually play, other than Leeds. Sheff United are less bothered by Huddersfield as it's further away.

Both Sheffield clubs, and Leeds, are a bigger deal to Barnsley than the other way around, same with Rotherham who the Sheffield clubs patronisingly refer to as Toytown. Both Rotherham and Barnsley have small club inferiority complexes over the nearby Sheffield clubs, and perceived local South Yorkshire media bias towards the city clubs.

So it turns out that Derby still haven't paid for the player they've just sold to Charlotte.

They owe Lech Pennan 2.5m of the 4m fee and missed the last installment due in February.

Tchh, chill, don’t worry about it…the EFL don’t

Desperate Derby underplaying every rule in the book…sets an easier preference for the rest of us clubs I guess?…jeez

Nah - just hopeless and found out.

Pity we still have the parasite on our wage bill next season...

(disclaimer, it is of course possible that he's injured, bruised ego, strained wallet, your guess is as good as mine..)

Forgot their were champ games tonight tbh

That hull win basically confirms it 3 of the bottom 4 you’d think

Draw doesn’t help peterboro a lot of it stays that way

Oh even better, Peterborough lose. Be a big turnaround for either they or Derby to get out of it now

That late Swansea turnaround is going to do for Peterborough.

They have QPR, Middlesbrough and Luton up next. Don't see them getting much there.
