Blakey's Right Peg Can't believe they put Shorey up for this.

I know most footballers aren't all that bright but he strikes me as being particularly dim.

Royal Rother
melonhead as the fans organisation, i just thought that conversing with, and representing the fans should really be what they are all about

is all

Indeed, but it doesn't have to be done on a forum where a small minority of supporters will abuse, criticise and dismiss their every effort. Often to get a "laugh".

The world of RFC supporters does not revolve around HNA. In fact most of them wouldn't dream of joining or reading such a forum. Indeed I suspect the majority have never even heard of HNA.

How will star interact with that majority?

The fact is HNA? represents one of, if not the single largest group of Reading fans actively interested in and commenting on the football club. Show me another organisation or community group or website where hundreds of fans discuss the club?

To ignore that source of opinion, because some might have negative opinions of the organisation, is ridiculous.

Agreed. They could communicate with all fans through these.

OK, so how many people here, who disagree with STARs communication and participation in this forum, went to the AGM and brought the subject up?

How many of you stood for election to change things?

I missed the point?

you mean its easier to keep moaning about STAR on HNA than to organise "the single largest group of Reading fans actively interested in and commenting on the football club" of fans to get on the committee and change it?

but that doesnt stop their attitude on here from being ridiculous

How ironic that some of STARs biggest detractors and those saying they should embrace HNA more readily are those from the AE clique who so belittle 'The Team' forum.

As has been said many times, if you have a direct issue with the club why not copy and paste your standard HNA rant into an e-mail to STAR and give a name to your opinions. I can fully understand why anyone would treat the various goings on on these pages with more than mild suspcion.

I agree Floyd. If STAR as an organisation does nothing for you as a supporter, and you do nothing for them then why go all indignant about STAR wishing to use other avenues to communicate. There are plenty to have used the base level coach support in the past and continue to do so. Perhaps that is all they wish for and good luck to them. STAR have helped my get to Liverpool in the FAC when the weather was atrocious and i was luckily given a place on one of the coaches.
STAR get accused of cow towing to the club over areas such as clappers and greater interaction. Again if someone doesn't want to get involved then don't. If someone wishes to get involved more in breaking down this invisible barrier which supposedly exists between the older supporters (in some instances) then do so.

Supporters come to matches for different reasons and on differing levels of interaction with the club/players/forums. Some want to have little to do with the club other than attend the match and get out. Others wish to feel a connection with the club and chose to do this through STAR.

Just think if STAR did not exist where would this leave the supporters need for representation, whether some feel this is effective or not as an organisation.

HNA is what? and how many are active posters here. This site is not indicative of and does not voice the views of the many supporters who attend matches.

why would you send a complaint to star floyd?
especially if youre not a member

unless its about coach travel- much better off sending it to the club itself

the simple point, for simple people, is if it purports to be a supporters trust, with the interests of RFC supporters at its heart
it might want to listen to them, and communicate with them, wherever possible
and if they were grown ups they would be able to take/ignore a bit of criticism

although, like i said, as an organisation its a total irrelevance to me as a supporter, and i couldnt care less about what they do or dont do.
still ashit attitude though

Can't really disagree.

Perhaps we don't need a supporters organisation at all :!:

i certainly think the reason STAR has been allowed to go on as it is, is in part due to us being a pretty well run club, who likes to look after its customers,
so apart from stupid people wondering "where all the money has gone?!?!" we as fans have very little to moan about.

pretty sure if there ever was a big issue, liek a maxwell takeover- an organisation could be formed that would combat that issue
and STAR could go on phoning the coach company every other week

So if your house starts to burn down, that's the time you'd think about insurance?

I'd much rather have an effective and competent organisation in place *before* any crisis comes along.

Agree. I'ts a bit like writing to your MP. It's their job to represent you, so if you have an issue and don't raise it with them, how do you expect anything to change.

But by your own admission we haven't got that. Anyway, like Norfolk Royal (RIP) I don't believe in insurance, I'll take my chances with the fire brigade.

I can't help feeling that in this day and age of electronic communication, most of the comments on this site are truly out of date. "Invited", "Not Invited", "Clique", blah, blah, blah......

What are those new fangled things that people use these days ????????? Computers, Videos, etc, etc, etc.......

If you really want a change, and want to be able to be a part of it, why don't you all email STAR and RFC and state that you want Vido Conferencing, on a large scale. It won't matter where you are, you will still be able to communicate YOUR concerns,.....and hey, there's a thought, even give your appreciation, for all the GOOD things that are being done!

Go for it,.....or just turn up in person. It's your choice. Enjoy the day. :|
