I've not read the board since before the Chelsea game but I thought Saturday was probably the most entertaining home game of the season. Both teams were happy to play and take the game to each other and we saw some good football. I thought we looked pretty useful at times against another team in a similar bracket to us, despite their obviously higher spending.

The midfield looked good with two wingers and McAnuff adding a bit more attaching threat, although I was very surprised to see both Guthrie and Karacan miss out. Kebe, despite his two well taken goals, didn't really do enough for me in general play. He still came back to help out Kelly on most occassions but he again just didn't seem willing enough to take his man on get stuck in on a few occassions when I'd expect even a lightweight winger to do more. If he pops up with two goals though you can't really be too critical.

Akpan looked good though. Inconsistent yes, but good all the same. A real positive for one so young but I'm not sure he did enough to keep either Guthrie or Karacan out in the future. Long term he looks like a good buy on that performance though.
