Handsome Man Rodgers 8 - very brave to play seven youngsters. Must stay brave when shit older players return to fitness and must be prepared to play more strikers.

Brave?

He didnt have a lot of other options did he? Which senior player (fit that is, ie not Harper, Marek or NHunt) did he leave out for one of these youngsters?

A knackerd old Gunnarson, the replaced Armstrong and SHunt are the only other options arent they?

Right now Hnadsome Man can't make a post on this board without having a pop at Matejovsky.

It's pretty ugly to be honest.

I liked the passy-passy football. I didn't like the almost total lack of end product. I liked the imperious Alex Pearce. I didn't like Kalifa Cisse being in possession of the ball at any time. I liked Scott Davies. I didn't like Simon Church's toothless performance as the central-striker. I liked Simon Church's performance on the right hand side. I didn't like Jimmy Kebe. I liked Hal Robson-Kanu's pace. I didn't like Hal Robson-Kanu's final ball. I liked Bertrand's mazy run towards the end. I didn't like Liam Rosenior's crossing. I liked Brendan Rodgers. I didn't like Billy Davies. I liked the Forest fans fighting amongst themselves.

Dirk Gently
chilipepper91 I assume the Forest player was sent off for an elbow?

Or a fist - I'd seen him do two or three little punches on players after the ball had gone before that, so all credit to the lino for staying alert and having the balls to report it.

Have to say that Forest used to be a great team but these days they're just a cynical disgrace - lots of little niggly things of the ball all the time, gamesmanship left right and centre and time-wasting galore (like Lynch, no 33, who twice insisted on being handed/thrown a ball when there was one on the ground within a foot of him.)

Only twice?!! I said at the time that the ball boy should have made a very real point of dropping the ball that the player was waiting for, then walking over to the ball nearest the player, picking that one up and giving it to him!

If the referee is allowing the multiball system then he should penalise players for timewasting if they deliberately ignore the ball nearest them.

Handsome Man MOTM was Davies though - he is already the best player in the championship.

:o

Potentially, maybe. Still a bit lax at times, forgets he's stepped up in standard. And with experience will use the ball more effectively. But yes, a real talent and kudos to my son who's been screaming for Scott's inclusion in the squad for some time.

All very nice to watch. Need more conviction in the final third which I think Matejovsky & N.Hunt would provide; at the expense of Church & Kebe I'd like to say.

Oh and FWIW, my MoTM was Karacan. Can't remember him putting a pass astray and always seemed prepared to do the dirty work and sweep things up in front of the back 4.

Him, Davies & Pearce all look mature players for their respective ages.

Wasnt there.stag do. But from the comments and 'highlights' it sounded promising. Good passing football without real cutting edge, but we all, including rodgers know we need a striker. The defence soumds rock solid, and a great start to build on.same at watford, get the passing and defence working, and then build the rest.rodgers can be judged on how long he takes to make it work.

Also, the bloke on the #6 bus dressed as a pirate and constantly talking - I agree with almost everything you said.

Everyone seems a tad over-excited. It was an entertaining enough game, but both we and Forest lack much final product or bite. New striker please.

Overexcited :?: You must be reading a different thread to me - you've just repeated what's been said on just about every post on the thread!

I read three pages of players being rated at 8 or 9. 6s, I think.

Fair dues, scores do tend to hit extremes here. But that's always been the case. The general consensus seems to be pretty clear though. Pretty, but we need an end product: experienced 15-a-season forward needed pretty urgently.

Now we've got the hang of the sideways passing game, we just need some better movement, that should change our play from dull and uninspiring, to exciting and incisive.

FWIW I thought we were lucky to get a point today, although we had the most possession, Forest had the better chances.

They had the best chance. The one Federici miraculously saved.

Maybe we already have one, but he only got 25 minutes yesterday.

Umm....I'd say the open goals that both Kebe and Davies missed were better chances.

I don't think Karacan can play the holding midfield role. More of an attacking role would suit him. Cisse or Bikey would suit a holding midfield role.
