You know how much I hate pointing out the correlation between Ejaria starting and points.

And how much I hated pointing out that we lost without starting Ejaria last game.

So I won't draw any attention to his start today and our good result.

Royals and Racers Finally SKY have put the highlights up https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/s ... ampionship

I see when we scored our winner half the Reading team couldn't be arsed and just walked off the pitch and engaged in smalltalk with their mates in the away end instead. They don't give a toss. New protest needed.

Just seen the highlights, how did Joao miss with all the goal to aim at after doing all the hard work? and christ that free header from the corner after we scored the winner.

Zip Drinkwater has improved an awful lot since Ince arrived. Would be happy to sign him up on reasonable wages.
Holmes has really got his act together too and has been great in recent weeks.

In Pauno’s defence he hardly had Joao to call upon this season. His return to the side has been huge. That was his 8th goal this season. He must be averaging a goal every other game this term.

8 in 17 (3) So very close to. Not just this season. His record for Reading is 64 (14) - 33

He's too good to stay with us much longer unless we improve a lot. Even then...

It’s a terrific strike rate. I think he’s happy to stay on the basis that he is at a club that appreciate what he offers and plays when fit.

Royal Rother Ejaria looked like a different player today, so it seems reasonable to suggest that Ince has told him he needs to be different.

Had a very solid game.

DD MOTM again. Ince has sorted him out as well.

When he arrived it was about nothing more than survival, whatever it took. Although old (bad) habits have certainly reared their heads at times, to have sorted out so much shite in the way we played, and then had obvious impact on individuals, is a real credit to him and Rae.

Ejaria was superb today. Watched him closely due largely to the chat on here

He is so disciplined- gets back in defensive position so quickly. And then today some really good quick passes in to the forwards (the assist on Joao’s post hit, the ball to Laurent on the first goal)

Haven’t seen some of his poorer performances but play like that and he is a massive asset

Adding to my previous comments I thought there was also a noticeable improvement in Joao’s demeanour today.

Obviously I’m not his greatest fan (although some of that is for the audience of 1) but I only saw one moment of frustration from him today (Laurent chose to shoot in the 1st half when squaring it may have been the better option) so it appears to me that Ince may also have addressed that negative body language issue as well. It ain’t rocket science that it needed addressing but Paunovic never dealt with it.

I had no evidence just a hunch. I can't remember the gem who actually did the good work to pull up the stats (Hound?) sorry.

Maybe he`s playing in his preferred position now.

I’ll dig it up at some point

Basically over a big sample of about 20 games each

When he starts we average about 1.6-1.7 points a game

When he doesn’t it’s about 0.7 or something like that

Yeah, but these so-called poorer performances have only been labelled as such by karbota (who’s a racist), Dellor (who’s a twat) and Ian (who’s Ian).

He played in the same position he has for the last three seasons.

And the defending for their goal was indeed an absolute travesty. Playground stuff

After Barnsley....

Hound Quick count up of results this season, hopefully counted correctly

Record when Ejaria has started

7 wins, 4 draws, 6 defeats. 25 points from 17 games - basically 1.5 points a game

Record when he hasn’t started

22 games, 15 points. I’m sure it’s not a coincidence

And none of those hammerings came when he started either

Weren't there similar stats last season for us conceding far fewer goals when Holmes was RB and winning much more with Swift starting?

Have you checked anyone else's stats for the same thing?
