Platypuss
Rev Algenon Stickleback H There's also the very slight possiblity that in the earlier days of JM's ownership, the manager's job at Reading FC didn't exactly have the biggest names in management crawling over broken glass to take the role.

I'm sure a second tier team could still have done better than Bullivant.

It wasn't such a bad gamble though was it.

Bullivant the very highly regarded and up and coming coach, Houghton the experienced international to add some top level on-the field experience from playing for the countries most successful club and whats-his-face who was El-Tel's ex-kit man or whatever to add some 'managerial experience' to the mix.

It was a gamble that certainly failed, but the ingredients were still pretty good.

I see there are plenty of people suggesting Dolan will be in the running to take over, is he in a much different position than Bullivant was back in 97?

Ideal
brendywendy our academy will come into its own and we may see pearce and henry playing 1st team football
by the time we win promotion theyll have the experience they need to become prem players

Yeah, and I think Pearce will actually be an improvement over Ivar, and Henry is definately an improvement over Oster.

I really hope they get a fair chance, and that we don't end up playing Kebe, Oster or blooperman ahead of them..

people have been moaning about the yoof not getting a game
but i see their value for us being all about if we go down, we have a decent nucleus who could really be great in the championship, and also be good enough for the prem if we get there again

The sooner we free-fall down the pyramid and rekindle rivalries with Swindon, Oxford and Aldershot the better. Perhaps we could sell our plastic home to the egg chasers and expand Palmer park in the likeness of Elm Park.

Readingfanman I would say the majority can't even name the first XI.

If by that you mean the best available team, there isn't much consensus even on HNA?!

Aldershite in one of the cups would be nice

Whats the betting if we do go down we wont get Man Utd or Liverpool in the cups for another 50 years!

There's a bright side....

by Coppelled Streets » 11 May 2008 18:31

Yoof may get a chance next season with Pearce (if he stays) and Henry waiting in the wings.

More evening games.

Less big time Charlie's.

Plenty of blue seats to choose from.

Winning £69 as a consolation of our relegation.

Seems like you've prefered the championship more these past 2 years,
season tickets = not as expensive
more matches = more points

What are the Things to look forward to next season???

by loyalroyal4life » 11 May 2008 18:46

Well need to try focus on being positive so thought there must be some good things to look forward to next season.

1. Pardew abuse again
2. Some more local games
3. Cheaper away games
4. More goals being scored (hopefully less conceded)
5. New players coming in, 1s we want out leaving maybe
6. More exciting matches
7. Warnock boxing match
8. A Royals striker hitting 20 goals

ANything else to add.....

1. Blackpool away.
2. No whingeing from the usual people as they'll no doubt be chuffed to bits that we've been relegated.
