I'm a great fan of Marek and his way of playing football. As a consequence I would love to watch him play in every game. However, I have to admit that he was completely the wrong player for yesterday's game. It wasn't until about twenty minutes in that I even remembered he was playing, that is how little he saw of the ball. He just isn't suited to the hustle, bustle, hoof and foul type of game. As a consequence, poor old Cisse was left trying to hold the central midfield virtually on his own. Little wonder then that we were frequently overrun in that area.

Little appeared to have plenty to offer but the stupid sods seemed incapable of picking him out with a decent pass. I lost count of the number of times he was stood way out on the right, waving his arms without a defender anywhere near him. However, his teammates seemed intent on taking the dodgy minicab route of passing (four unnecessary detours adding to the mileage) before delivering the ball to its requested destination. By that time, even Charlton's dodgy and terribly nervous defence had identified the potential danger and closed Little down.

In the end Little started to move inside in an attempt to get possession and, as a consequence, lost an awful lot of his effectiveness.

Terminal Boardom MOM - long

Apart from 2 goals - what did he contribute?

LOL!
Isn't that the equivalent of saying 'What have the Romans ever done for us?'

That had actually crossed my mind

Are you the Judean People's Front?

Trevor Senior scored loads but since when did that warrant MoM? And what does it say for the rest if Shane Long WAS MoM? Don't get me wrong; I think his enthusiasm is first rate and he never gives up. May as well give the "award" to Kingsley!

FWIW I do tend to agree wih you about Long's failings, but compared to the rest of the team and in the match as a whole, two goals is enough to make up for anything he may have done wrong.

There's not a lot more we can do
If someone is playing crap and we're calling for his replacement, their replacement will come in and we'll all moan at him
Everyone is calling for Coppell to drop Doyle and Hunt but Hunt has not got the amount of assists he has from not playing, likewise with Doyle and scoring.
I think Coppell has realised that Matejovsky is a vital player for us and I think he has bought Pearce in at the right time and maybe Ingi's injury is a blessing in disguise.
However, in my opinion, Bikey has to come in for Duberry as he is a no nonsense defender and offers a genuine threat against opponents from set pieces. Bikey was playing week in week out in the most successful part of our season to date and it seems a waste to see him in the reserves.

The CD pairing was so much like seeing a rabbit in headlights. They looked scared. Bikey has to come in and we desperately need someone to take the midfield by the cruff of the neck. Question is who do we have that can actually do that?

Did Fed throw the ball out to our full backs last night? If so I must have missed it.
