sandman Long was the lone frontman against Donny so when he was subbed McD's decision was booed because people wanted him to withdraw a midfielder and go with two up front. The local media have blown it out of all proportion to get a story.

far be it from me toassume i know whats going on in the mongers heads but that is rubbish. they bood him cos they think hes shit

I'll rephrase then. Where I was sitting people were baffled by the substitution and were not booing Long. If you believe everything the papers tell you that's your prerogative.

so you bood cos you wanted a more attacking substitution.

from where i sat the rest definitely sounded like they hated long

loyalroyal4life I agree should have been directed at Mcanuff

Don't jeer or boo anyone.

McAnuff had a decent game yesterday. If you want to boo anyone, boo the opposition.

Where did I say that I personally booed the substitution. There were many people directing abuse at McD.

In McDermott we trust.

McAnuff was bobbins out on the wing, he really is out of form although he brightened up when he went in the middle.

Howard was awful - people can say about Mills' poor backpass for the 2nd goal but in all truth, we wouldn't have been in that position had Howard not given it away under no pressure in their final third.

As for Long, I didn't hear anyone jeering him yesterday any more than usual.

You really can't blame Howard for the 2nd goal. Forwards and midfielders frequently give away possession in the final third and have every right to expect their centre backs not to act like a pair of clowns! Khiz should never have got so tight and then just let the ball go over his head and Mills should try looking to see where his keeper is before deciding whether to pass back or kick the ball out of play.

Not a clue what he was playing at, he was under no pressure and had 2 options and instead completely fluffed it.

As a keen previous defender of Matejovsky , I appreciate what you say about sometimes losing the ball. However, he had options and made the wrong decision.

I was sat in the North and Fed wasn't exactly vocal when Mills was trying to work out what was around him. Mills was undoubtedly at fault in the main but others could have done more to prevent it as well.

Ian Royal jeering and booing a player is for when they are repeatedly shit. Long isn't good enough, but he's hardly worthy of getting a booing unless he has a spectacularly bad game.

Booing Howard after one poor game is spectacularly stupid though. The guy has been involved in the creation of half a dozen of our goals at least!

I suggest Ian you come and watch a few home games brfore you make a comment like that.

Howard was complete shite on Saturday...and Long ALWAYS puts a 100 % shift in !!!!

:?:

Where did I say Howard wasn't shit on saturday? Where did I say there that Long doesn't work hard? What has being at a few games recently got to do with what circumstances I think it's acceptable to boo a player?

Howard had a shocker against Norwich and I lost count of the number of passes he mis placed. He was no better against QPR, so he is pretty consistant with his performances.

Tiem for change with Tabb getting my vote to play in midfield, more energy and he goes box to box.

Just for those who think Howard should be dropped. He has played a significant role in 8 of our league goals this season and we've been scoring almost for fun since he came back into the side.

We've conceeded a lot of goals as well and he's certainly contributed, but I think you could place more of the weight of that on a back 5 who often look ropey.

Howard was crap Saturday, as were ALL the team in the first half, they simply did not put a shift in. Although moving McAnuff infield helped, it was more that we finally had a winger who wanted to beat a man, rather than replacing Howard that triggered our rival. Whether you like Howard or not, he's probably the only player we have with the vision to play a killer pass, which won us 3 points against Doncaster a few weeks ago. Norwich got their tactics wrong by sitting back, had they reverted to 4v3v2 at half time I doubt we'd of come back.

Coming back to the point, I still jeered him off as I did the entire team at half time. Sometimes the players need to know when they've been utter dogshit and haven't tried, which they clearly didn't do first half against Norwich.

It Is What It Is From where i was sitting, long's performance was applauded? But howards substitution was appluaded due to him putting in a dire shift, never seen him play so bad before, every other ball he gave away and Jem made him look league 2 quality the way he ran circles around him covering for him!

Same as. No Jeering in Upper West

I think it as absolutely outrageous that people were jeering Howard when they should have been concentrating on abusing Matt Mills.

Yep. I think at the next home game when his name is read out the entire ground should give him the finger.

I cannot comment about QPR as I was not there but I saw the other two. Howard was for me MOTM against Cardiff but was awful against Norwich. He does always give 100% however and in my view I would only ever boo a player for not trying. And everyone in our team always gives 100% - although with very mixed results it has to be said.

You can't start abusing the attacking players when we score 3 or so a game.
I agree, we should abuse mills
