Mixed feelings about Zurab.

When he was good he was very good but when he was bad he was horrid (Norwich at home and Wembley come to mind). Would prefer we borrowed players that we could realistically buy on a permanent contract (Griff and Legs) rather than loans that are never likely to be made permanent like Khiz.

I doubt he would have stayed even if we had gone up - as it sounds like he always intended to move. Maybe just maybe that cost us promotion if he was say 5% below par on the day at Wembley - knowing it was his last game for us whatever.

Hard to know what happened "mentally" at Wembley.

Zurab made a blinding tackle on Sinclair in the box,
Karacan could have cleared it, Kebe should've, but
neither did, ball comes back in, and - PENALTY

I think that was probably the moment we lost it. A simple hoof away by Karacan
or Kebe wins a throw in, and history is changed.


I'm trying to imagine how it was for Zurab, so soon after a superb tackle, to see his
midfielders screwing up and the pressure's back on...

Life is like a box of chocolates...you likesome of what u get and some you just hate..Zurab was/is a good pro..he was berated for his mistakes in the final but at other times in the season he was great...I personally liked him at RFC and wish him well...
