It occurred to me yesterday that, now the Arsenal game has been moved to the Monday, the Sunderland game can't be re-arranged for the Tues/Wed of that week which is bloomin' annoying. That means that if one of us gets to through in league cup (Sunderland are at home to Middlesbrough so it's likely) then the game can't be played till January. It would probably be the 8th/9th although that (along with the 22nd/23rd) are the dates for league cup semis so there's a chance one of us might be busy then. Aside from this, every other midweek is either champions league, internationals till May aside for those that are possible FA cup replays. Therefore if between us we get replays in 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds of cup it could have gone from originally being scheduled for the second game of season to one of last 4!!

(Please note: none of this is fact checked and I'm basing it on when stuff is and the general football calender of last few seasons however I think it's basically accurate!)


EDIT: I annoyed myself by not fact checking a post so I now have. I was slightly inaccurate: the next week on which there is no champions or internationals and no chance of a league cup/ fa cup game is the 16th/17th April. However this would still be the 6th last game of the season.

Well if they're going to announce it for then the sooner the better really so travel and hotel can be booked.
