If more players don't accept the contract extension, the remaining players will be able to go to Thorpe Park and get the team photo from that rubber dinghy rapids ride.

Elm Park Forever But maybe last seasons crap team photo was the secret of our success...Maybe we should take all our team photos in random fields

If we follow that logic, The oracle toilets for the head shots and maybe the bus station or maybe from 1 train platform to the other for the team photo?

Which season was the last team photo taken? Don’t remember there being one in the last couple of seasons, presumably the club couldn’t afford a professional photographer.

I’d have it taken at Bearwood, should the club ever manage to get a squad of players large enough to make such a picture worthwhile.

Jeez, are you ever positive about anything?

They're using the same photographer they've had for years, Jason Dawson. Top bloke. Not sure about last season, but remember the team photo for 2023-24 with the SCL chaps in it. From memory, all the team photos have been at Bearwood for a few years now.

Totally impractical, but would be nice to have a team photo from the open day with the team and staff. And then just a horde of STHs in the background.

Don’t see why that couldn’t work. Ideally you’d want a nice grassy bank for the STH to mass on.
I reckon it’s a great idea….

Hasn't the open day already happened? And our squad is currently about 10 players and they're on holiday

Get past those issues (right or wrong) and it's certainly more doable!

Pick a set of random fans, dress them up in the new kit and take that as your team photo. Then just photoshop the player faces onto them, It'll be quite funny to see the likes of Lewis Wing appear to have the body of an overweight black female, for example.

Possible spin off thread, but Panini have signed a deal with the EFL so expect to see our players appearing as Panini stickers.

Or alternatively do the team photo using one of those face-through-the-hole boards you get at the seaside printed up with the new Biscuit-Tin-Hoops kit. You could then mix-and-match players and STHs to make up the numbers.

I wonder if we'll get a 2026 Reading Team Calendar as they didn't produce one for 2025?
(Whenever I did a search for a Reading calendar it came up with calendars containing pictures of people who were reading books!)

Will Infantino manage to get himself his own golden sticker in that collection as well?

(Classic cross thread/cross forum tie up there! 8) )

Might be interesting, it’s termed as a “groundbreaking multi-year partnership”

Football League Press Release on the partnership

Might have to get a copy of Match later this year for the free album and free packet to start a collection. Are they up to £1 for 1 packet of 5 stickers yet

Would be the first collection covering the football league since the days of Nationwide when they did 3 successive seasons; 1995, 1996 & 1997 before disappearing.

Earliest Panini sticker of a Reading FC connection that I know of comes from the 1981 collection:

Though FKS were the “major” UK sticker collection company throughout the 1970s they didn’t include an actual Reading player, Steve Death, until circa 1980 by which time they were rapidly being out sold by Panini. But FKS were fun with players being “photoshopped” into new kit after a transfer  and all cards being different (some players in action shots, some from the training ground, some in away kit) distinctly “amateurish” but overall felt more like “home” rather than all the cleansed identical uniform pictures you get these days.

I believe, though, that the very first sticker of a Reading player in a national UK sticker collection was from a little known 1978 collection offered by a company called AVA Americana who included a mug shot of Richie Bowman:

I am sure there was a team photo last season, and there must be one this time as well. I know Jason Dawson is the photographer and has been for some years. Looking at his Instagram page he also does the royal family quote a bit, as there's some photos of King Sausagefingers interacting awkwardly with some plebs.

I liked the ones they did in town and at the abbey ruins. Maybe they could do one by the river at the Oracle, or get the Purple Turtle involved somehow. They could do the headshots in the bogs.

And it’d be those headshots that’d probably be passed by the club to Panini for their new collection

It'd certainly be different. Can just imagine them positioning the likes of Harvey Knibbs so he covers up the 'call this number for a BJ' graffiti.

Good way to show off Couhig's new super duper toilets at the stadium.
