Huntley & Palmer You would have thought the lad could afford some decent trainers

I was trying to work out the club badge on his shorts

Edit: It's an FAI badge

They are asiics trainers, which are amongst the best trainers in the world.
You may not think they look good, but I guarantee that he would have more injuries if he wore anything made by some of the "trendy" makes.

He doesn't exactly look as though he is running anywhere at the moment though does he.

I certainly hope he doesn't play in the San Marino game. Surely as we pay his wages, we have some say in when he is fit to play again? If he were to be brought back too soon for that game and breaks down again, where does that leave us? I suspect RFC would be unable to claim any compensation from Republic of Ireland FA either.

A better and cheaper alternative therapy would be to have him freezing his nuts off by walking round the town naked signing autographs.Cryotherapy my arse. When men were men it would be stiff whisky and hot bath I tells thee.

I don't think he'll be back till after the Villa game on Feb 10 but there will always be potential for argument if Ireland want him for the game on Feb 7.

That's not a bad shout actually. We have 3 players in Stretton Royals with groin strains at the moment. I'm sure that in the 1970s when I was playing football, we never used to get such strains. I guess kids were fitter then.

thanks for the link.

i dont think that he'll be back until the villa game if not afterwards. there was a report somewhere that he wants to come back sooner, but dont think that coppell will take the risk of hurrying him back too quickly. Def hope that he doesnt play for ireland on the 7th. but over all good to see that he's making progress

Didn't Doyle himelf say on BBC Radio Berkshire last Friday night that he'll be back for the Villa game?

He said he's confident about a return for the Villa game and Man City's probably too early. The BBCRB Recording is good till Friday if anyone wants to check.

I imagine Doyle is being overly optimistic whilst the club are being rather cautious. So somewhere in the middle !

He'll be warming the bench - Lita/Kitson will be knocking them in on a regular basis.
