"ROYAL RIOT"

3,000 Reading supporters stormed the pitch at full time after a last minute Graeme Murty 35 yard thunderbolt secured a point for the Royals and inevitably guranteed safety in the top flight. The players rushed off the Pride Park pitch while Derby supporters looked on in dismay as the supporters ran amok in scenes not witnessed since the 19th Century when Dirk Gently won the cup for Notts County.

In the lead up to the match:

The Sun: D-Day! Reading ready for epic battle for survival.
EP: Kits-On!Dave ready to fire Royals to safety.

After the game:

The Sun: Mad Sad. John Madejski upset by Reading's failure to beat the drop.
EP: How did we bugger that up? Reading Relegated, after throwing away 4 goal half time lead. Reaction from the 8-5 thriller.

Inside pages of the EP: Shorey: Who cares, I'll be gone by July anyway!
