sawyers left arm Forgive me but yesterdays result bears into insignificance for me at this stage but one thing he did say was keep cheering the boys on and keep them up and more than ever I will.

I know just what you mean - my husband was suffering from cancer and was seriously ill in March 2006 but insisted I still went to the Leicester game - the feeling at that game was immense but I always feel I missed out to some extent as I knew that there were more important things in life and pictures from Leicester remind me of how he was then. He went into hospital the next week and thankfully has been successfully treated and is still with me and progressing towards full health, but I'm afraid I disagree with Shanks and football is still only a leisure pursuit and not more important than life and death.

My thoughts are with you and your family SLA

Sorry for your loss

My dad passed away when I was 11.
Shortly before he took me to the Simod Cup Final - i'll fondly remember that as my best football day out ever surpassing getting promoted to the Prem purely for the memories of sharing that day with him (and Gilkey's wondergoal of course!).

I think that is why Reading FC mean so much to me now - and now my lad who has been a STHr since the age of 5 is carrying on the tradition.

Recently asked by a Pompey fan "if you get relegated won't you support a better team? he replied "No way mate! I'm reading thru and thru". That's what it's all about 4 me!

I hate condolence thread because I hate being reminded of my mortality.

Hope everyone else is well, SLA. The big test is when that East Stand seat contains someone else 19 times next season, so all the best.
