Barry the bird boggler  shouldn't they also retire the no. 4 as that was Parky's and Senior/Blackman/Friday tended to wear the no. 9, Horrix the no. 10 and Steve Death wore no. 1....

You forgot Gilkesy's no.7 shirt! (Or no.11 for his earlier days)...

Certainly retire it for a season or two as it would be unfair to give it to another player stepping into the team but don't retire it for good unless a pattern of player deaths starts emerging that suggests the shirt is cursedW&E Royal I think if a player dies when on the clubs books then it should be ok, such as Marc Vivian Foe and Ray Jones

What are you on about? It might not happen in this country, but Boca Juniors retired the number 10 shirt ages ago. They're neither American (in the sense that Spacey meant) nor an ice hockey team. There are plenty more examples that I can't be bothered to root out.

Silver Fox Basically football should be played in shirts numbered 1-11 and it's only commercialism that has changed this.

Where do you sit with regards to central midfielders wearing the number 4?W&E Royal I want our reserve goalkeeper to wear the number 13 shirt, i hate having it "for the fans" it's gay. I detest that Hunty got the 10 shirt and i also hated it when Adie Williams wore the 8 shirt.
While we're at it, can we get rid of Tom Hark?
