I think Blackburn have done very well in the transfer market to be fair. The signings of Samba (free), Santa Cruz (£3., MaCarthy (£2.5m, Warnock (£1.5), Roberts (£3m) and Ooijer (£2m) all represent very good value for money and show Hughes has a good eye for a player.

Agreed, but I would imagine Blackburn are paying Benni McCarthy £50+k pw... and their average gate is less than ours.

Mmm, the adverbs smashing and fcuking in one post by the wonderful Norwegian in our midst (glad to see his English is improving BTW). Wycombe Royal, I suggest you give up now, this man really knows his football and you just don't know what you are talking about.

Insults are all well and good, but like myself you don't actually attend games do you?

I am inclined to think your opinion would differ if you had shelled out a lot of money to watch RFC play away games this season.

Lets face it, this money is not peanuts and the lengths the club have gone to in obtaining it under false pretences is borderline disgusting.

I don't attend as many games as I'd like to for sure, but I've been to 5 this season and Bolton coming up.

What insults?

Hoop Blah I think Blackburn have done very well in the transfer market to be fair. The signings of Samba (free), Santa Cruz (£3.8), MaCarthy (£2.5m, Warnock (£1.5), Roberts (£3m) and Ooijer (£2m) all represent very good value for money and show Hughes has a good eye for a player.

5 league goals in 51 games, for £3 million. 1 goal in 24 league games this season. I'm sure if we'd spent that much on a striker and got that sort of return, I dare say one or two might be critical.

didn't Jack Walker leave them something like £300 million in his will? It would help a bit.

5 games as a 'casual' attender = (approximately) 10 games as a STH

Boro -
IN: not signed anyone yet
OUT: Andrew Davies

could make interesting reading by the end of the week

I generally don't reply to people when they start getting offensive because if they can't get their point across in a well-reasoned manner (without the need for swearing and personal insults) then, in my opinion, their comments aren't worth hearing..

How when we seeminly strugle to attract anyone, can Boro possibly be getting the Euro Golden Boot holder?

Now of course we're not going to be signing players like this, but it shows what we're up against and it shows how dangerous standing still at this level is.

Why when Coppell came out and admitted what a mistake he made in the summer, are we doing exactly the same thing?

It's not fans sayin we got it wrong in the summer, it was Coppell himself.

Probably because, unlike Reading, they have chosen to sell all their best players in the last few months.

Of course Boro are also losing arguably their best defender and potentially their best winger in Downing which frees up the money to get Alves.

£10m for a player who has only played (and admitedly scored well) in Sweden and Holland is a big risk as well. One that clearly not many are willing to take.

They also sold Yakubu and Viduka last summer.

Because the right players aren't out there. With the possible exception of Matty Taylor, and I'm not sure he'd get in the team at the moment, I'm not sure we've missed out on anybody in our price range.

If Fulham, Birmingham, Bolton and Sunderland can all find 3 of the ‘right players’ and Wigan can find 4 of them, how come we can only find 1, when we are obviously better than all of those clubs?

Are they the "right players" though?

Why do we find it so hard to find these players?

They will be if they keep their respective teams up. Speculate to accumulate and all that.
