I don't agree. Reading have shown over the past three years that they have the ability to play at, and even surpass, any team in the Premier League. They are a TEAM that is able to beat any 'Star Studded Individual' who dominates his own team, to a fault. I would have thought that most Reading Fans would have realised this, by the way that McD produced the amazing run of results last year. Sometimes you can get caught up in the 'hype', and forget that they (Premier) are only human beings. Admitebdly some of them have exceptional skills, but if the 'Team' doesn't work together, they are just flashes of brilliance, that can easily be dulled......

I'd take a tenner on that 5000/1 if I were you!

One off knock out game as minnows with nothing to lose is a completely different kettle of fish to a league game in a season of 38 league games. And we haven't shown we have the quality to surpass, or even equal any team in the Premier League that is seriously competing to play in the Champions League.

Man City predictably beat us in the cup and we haven't played Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs etc in a competitive match since being relegated. Liverpool were seriously in decline when we beat them at Anfield.

Indeed,
I'd suggest I am worth at least 5 points to the side, and that's a modest appraisal of my contribution

seasoned users of the board will note that I backed the boys to come back from 2-0 with 20 minutes to win 3-2 at Ashton Gate last season, a post that I genuinely believe was the turning-point in our season

the boys responded to my enthusiastic never-say-die backing (telepathically, subconsciously, spiritually, whatever) and went on to win the title

No, but the idea of Reading being in the Champions League (in our lifetime, well some of our lifetimes anyway, not looking at anyone in particular) is ..

Europa league could happen couldn't it? Champions League seems a LONG way off, but then so did the Premiership a few years back......

Again, I disagree with you. It is possible that Reading could get into the Champions League just as it is possible for, say, Mansfield Town to get to the Premier League. However remote it seems, any team has the chance to qualify for the Champions League if they're in the Premier League. Reading just don't have a squad good enough to finish in the top 4 at the moment, I must say, but in the future, who knows?
