Whatevs... Only worry is who we bring in? Someone who can continue the transition to a good footballing team would be my choice.

If it wasn't for Fedders last season we would be playing League 1 football now.

Because of Clarkes's Chelsea links I was prepared to give him a chance.

In the dictionary under 'dour' it says 'see Steve Clarke'. He has turned fast paced ,attacking football into a grind again.

Sod off to Fulham and get them relegated.

I think we'll be losing a pretty good manager and it's not the best time for a new manager to take over (in terms of the side doing pretty well so don't want any disruption without a pre-season for a new man to implement his ideas). I've always been pretty supportive of Clarke and what it looked like he was trying to do as well as the way he went about it.

Having said that, am I that fussed he's going? Not overly to be fair.

My bigger concern is why!

Libertine And for the record I do care that Clarke is going. Not out of any allegiance towards him (god knows he showed none to us), only because of how it will (probably) disrupt this team and hurt our chances for promotion this season.

Just can't believe Clarke would go like this unless something in the background was going on. Is there something we don't know?

I'm afraid I can totally believe Clarke is going without something going on the background. He has always looked, from day one, that he thinks he's too good for us. He is wrong.

Quite why he now thinks Fulham are more appropriate - who knows - could it be an absolute sack full of cash from a rich and desperate owner?

I said on here at the start that I didn't want Clarke, though accepted the drunk looking trampy scruffbag once he was here, so no, really not that bothered.

I'm a bit surprised that he's suddenly going, but I wouldn't say I particularly care.

If he has resigned does that mean we will still received compensation from Fulham?

Interesting to see what the reasons would be behind his move, can;t really claim he missed living in West London (It's only down the road)

No I don't care. It's football and the way it is these days.

I care about the disruption
And I'm confused as to why and surprised that he has gone to Fulham, and in the middle of the season.
I'm also disappointed, as I thought he'd built his team, who were looking very good at times.

What I care about is him taking his goalkeeping coach with him.

Has anyone at the club still got Sal Bibbo's number?

I think Clarke is a decent, if unspectacular manager. Sad to see him go because I think he has built a good team, and got the best out of players like Blackman and Norwood - but I think we can replace him with a better manager, there are a few available options out there at the moment.

Bigger questions for me are why the owners allowed Clarke to speak to Fulham and ultimately leave - and why Clarke would jump ship so soon for a club that is ultimately no better positioned for a tilt at the Premier League than we are. I fear there is more to this story than meets the eye.

Clarke done a pretty good job this season despite a poor run of results recently. The bigger question is why?

Steve Clarke whooooaaa
Steve Clarke whooooaaa
Fullham took the punt
They don't know he's a pcunt

In fairness when he came onboard I think most of us were all pretty :| but were at least grateful that Adkins was no longer taking us down. Instead we had to endure 5 months of turged footballing ineptitude as we underachieved and narrowly avoided relegation anyway. Optimism for the season at present greatened with each signing (bar Ali Al-Whoopsy) but the longer the season goes on the more chance he has to make us shit.

After losing 6-1 at Birmingham last Christmas if someone was to tell you that an uninspiring alcoholic looking Scotsman would save us from relegation, take us to Wembley, turn Blackman into a footballer, sign Matej Vydra and Ola John amongst others, get us to just outside the playoffs, then oxf*rd off to make space for a proper manager to come in.... We'd have all taken it :D

Why would you want to keep an employee who wanted to go to a rival?

As I said, I think there is more to it than meets the eye. If all was great behind the scenes, I don't think the owners would have let him speak to Fulham. And if all was great, I can't see why Clarke would want to leave.

I don't believe there is anything going on behind the scenes.

Fulham have offered him a lot of cash and he's a twàt. That's what's going on.
