I really enjoyed the 2009 Chelsea game and thought that Davies would be a world-beater, but didn't realise that pre-season would carry on for the next ten games.

Denmark under-21s and New Zealand were good games at Elm Park.

Pre-season friendlies are rubbish.

Can't ever remember a "great" pre-season friendly, though I guess the Aldershot one when they were throwing rocks at us inside the ground had it's moments.

I remember playing Spurs at Elm Park at a preseaon game - they won 1-0, and a certain Sol Campbell made his debut at right back (or was it left back)

Do you know I have an irrational hatred of Spurs and their cocky fans.
This dates back the pre season friendly a few years back when Spurs sold virtually all their allocation and some of them were in the upper west.
At half time a number of their fans, whilst queuing for a beer were slagging of our club big time.
Slating everything from the location of the ground to a mickey mouse team like Reading having a stadium like this, punching above their weight, the hooped shirts, the town etc.etc.
I just smirked listening to the ill informed twats.

I never had so much pleasure when we stuffed them a year or so later at the Mad Stad and MOST of their fans had left fifteen minutes or so before the final whistle.
Still hate the fkers and hope old twitcher does to them what he has done to the rest of his previous clubs.

Nothing personal like....................

Southampton at EP in about '72/73....

And Chelsea sometime in the early 90s where we held our own in the first half and then Gianfranco Zola gave an exhibition of the most sublime footy since, errrr, Robin Friday.

That's a fair point, though. It's possibly the worst location of a football ground, I can think of.

Bromley... Whenever that was.

Crap game, but the LOLZ of seeing Federici score his first goal for Reading are an amusing memory.

The parking might be crap but the location is as good as it gets.

Try driving to St James Park

One pub within a mile of the ground. And that's a Harvester. Shiiite.

St James's Park, hundreds of pubs within one mile of the ground. Skillz.
