SkinUke From Platypus' thread we have all these players who have gone to our rivals to play a major part in securing their survival.
So why don't we track just how marvellous they are and how many actually make first team regulars and have a real effect?
Perhaps that will see whether the RTGs are right or the GTGs (Grey tinted glasses). The losers buy a virtual pint for the winners at the NHA virtual bar.
Here's the list... Any more to add?
Fulham -
IN: Brede Hangeland, Leon Andreasen, Eddie Johnson, Jari Litmanen, Erik Nevland. Toni Kallio, Erik Hagen, Paul Stalteri
Boro -
IN: Afonso Alves
Birmingham -
IN: David Murphy, James McFadden, Mauro Zarate
Sunderland -
IN: Jonny Evans, Jean-Yves Mvoto, Phil Bardesley, Rade Prica, Andy Reid
Wigan -
IN: Wilson Palacios, Maynor Figueroa, Erik Edman, Marlon King.
Bolton -
IN: Gretar Steinsson, Tamir Cohen, Matt Taylor , Gary Cahill, Grzegorz Rasiak.
Derby -
IN: Hossam Ghaly, Danny Mills, Laurent Robert, Robbie Savage, Emanuel Villa, Mile Sterjovski, Roy Carroll, Alan Stubbs
Reading -
OUT: John Halls, Alex Pearce, James Henry, Simon Cox.
I f uckin wonder. Lets see.
Fulham - just BEAT Villa
Boro - DREW with Newcastle, away.
Birmingham - LOST (see Sunderland)
Sunderland - BEAT Birmingham
Wigan - BEAT West Ham
Bolton - BEAT Reading
Derby - DREW with Man City
FULHAM ARE 3 POINTS BEHIND US.
Reading FC - WHAT A JOKE.
do it in the cheap....? f uck off. anyone that thought it would be any different ... WAKE UP, no ambition = relegation.

Real football isn't like CM.
Just thought I'd remind people.

Ozymandias They are failing.
They are all rubbish.
Sack SC, sack the board
Hound Mr Mad until he throws it in, or spends the millions of pounds that he's got from Sky, there's almost a never-emptying pot of money there, and we're beating off the players that want to come and play for Reading.
Wake up.

How did all the others teams at the bottom manage it then?
How any teams manage to sign someone?
Actualy why do we even bother? Lets write a letter to FIFA saying
'Dr Mr Blatter, we here at Reading FC don't believe in the transfer window, we also can't seem to find anyone who fits into our wage structure and budget unless they are in the French 2nd division. For these reasons we have decided to scrap transfers at Reading FC. So NO FANKS and cya.
Yeah two can play this stupid childish game of someone coming up with a valid point and the toys going out the pram.

Oohhhhh.
Toys
Pram
There's too many children on here who believe that when results don't go your way, we should run out and buy millions of pounds worth of players that will make a difference, because when they're playing CM, that's all they do.
Buying players does make a difference providing they're the players that fit with the manager's plan of the team he wishes to build. SC has a plan, and if he can find the player, who fits all the criteria, then we'll sign him.

Alan Partridge Don't respond to them then!!!
That wasn't aimed at you personally Ozy, but similarly to you getting annoyed by 'FM managers' if you want!, it annoys me when points are raised (valid ones) and people respond with 'sack coppell, sack everyone etc' no one is saying that apart from SDR, just a really toys and pram moment, like I can't respond to your view with a response so 'sack everyone' that's what it sounds like.

Ozymandias Agree with most of that.

Uke Not "no comment" - I just haven't been online for a day or two.
I am concerned that our squad doesn't have a plan B given its size, but that's not the point of this thread is it?
Apart from Bolton who else should we track in this thread?
by Wycombe Royal » 04 Feb 2008 12:21
rfc58 it appears he wants more for the club than it's worth.

Or he is being very selective on who it wants to sell it to.

Royal Family At Foolham Hodgson in January bought in SEVEN new players for about £8 million pounds. One loan, two short term contracts & 4 permanents. Why could we not have done at least some business even on that scale? It's cost them relative peanuts & the side they put out against Villa yesterday was unrecognisable (performance wise) to what they were like under Sanchez. I know they're getting players back from injury as well, but still - I was furious at our lack of January activity watching sides like that sign player after player.
Nobody was asking Reading to break the bank & go stupid, just some decent squad additions to add more options & depth.

cmonurz Perhaps also worth keep track of points earned by clubs since the transfer window shut….
Fulham 3
Bolton 3
Middlesbrough 1
Birmingham 1
Sunderland 0
Reading 0
Derby 0
Naturally, being the doom-monger I am, I would like to point out that one of Sunderland’s new signings scored in their 2-0 win over Birmingham last week, on 29th. But then you have to draw the line somewhere.
